After stopping at The Keller Roundhouse (our wedding reception venue), my fiancé and I decided to walk around to see if we could find any potential vendors. We happened upon this cute bakery as we were headed to lunch; I did some research while we were eating and was very excited about our next stop as I had seen wonderful reviews and photos of beautifully baked treats. We went into Life is Sweet and a woman with dark hair and black-framed glasses came out and just kinda stood there and stared at us waiting for us to place an order. I greeted her and let her know we were there to find out about cake tastings and she curtly responded saying they only do them for weddings. I then told her that's why we were there and she said they were booked at the time. We then proceeded to ask about cake flavors and literally had to make the "go on" hand gesture to maybe get her to talk to us a bit more. She pointed to the sign for us to read, said there were other special wedding flavors but didn't bother to elaborate on them. She also didn't care to give me more information on how to make an appointment for the future. The whole experience was cold and off-putting. I was very disappointed that our service was unwanted and that we felt like pests while visiting. It would have been wonderful to have a bakery within walking distance of our...
Read moreI usually have amazing experience with awesome customer service when I go to small businesses. Unfortunately, not the case when I visited this bakery. The set up was nice, but the young lady with glasses was not nice at all! Instead of her coming out greeting she was very rude! Did not seem to want to be there at all! I tried to make conversation, but you could clearly see she didn't want to show any good customer service. I almost felt like I was unconvincing her. Not sure if this was a racial thing or just being down right lazy! When my husband tried to consult with the owner/manager all she tried doing was challenging my husband. Then she quickly tried saying that her employee was also a half minority! Which is so irrelevant to the issue I had experienced! Never again will I be coming back to be treated in this disrespectful way! I wanted to speak with a manager or owner but did not want my daughter to have to see me get upset. Note to owner if you're running a business especially a small business then make sure to have employees put on their best courteous self towards customers. I will most definitely pass this...
Read moreI normally do not write reviews, especially unfavorable ones, but I do not recommend using life is sweets services. I was really looking forward to doing a gender reveal and getting a cake made. I was super excited going into the bakery and when I was explaining what I wanted and what I was planning on doing, the baker/owner told me that my idea was stupid and that she hated it. Iâm not confrontational and was in a time crunch so I still moved forward with getting the cake made. In hindsight, I shouldnât have given her business, but at the time I was just in shock from how rude she was. I clearly shouldâve looked at the other bad reviews because it seems like this is a reoccurring problem with this bakery. Not too sure why you would be in a service industry if you donât have good customer service....
