Such a horrible experience...we walked in. Get greeted with RBF the Hoestess. We say 4 for the patio and she mumbles something to the other hostess....whatever that was about...then seats us outside to a table that was filthy and had ants crawling all over it. She sees said ants and continues to place the napkins and menus down on the table. We asked for a towel so WE could wipe down the table, she walks off with an attitude but says she will bring one, while waiting for the towel we decide to switch to another table but they’re ALL dirty, so we just settled on the least dirty table. The same host walks out to seat a couple (we’re still waiting on a towel btw) and she seats them at the original table we were seated at that had ants.....a second girl that works there walked out to bring us chips so we asked her if we could have a towel to clean off our table, she just glares at us, mumbles a reluctant “ok” and walks back inside. The original host walked past us without saying a single thing... after that we decided to leave and went to Fresco’s up the road. When we were leaving the patio to walk to our car, we could see inside the restaurant where the host stand is, and the hostess’ are just standing there???? Horrible horrible horrible...first and last time we will ever go there. Y’all just need to shut this place down, because after I read other recent reviews of this place it’s obvious that terrible service is a common trend amongst the staff. If the front of house acts like this just imagine what they do with...
Read moreThis restaurant has really gone downhill. It used to be my favorite, hands down. After being sick for almost a year, my husband got our order to go. He tried calling it in, but after trying 3 numbers that were all disconnected, he decided to just drive there and place the order to go. Not only was my order wrong, it was really gross. We ordered chicken enchiladas with poblano sauce, specifying we wanted shredded chicken. I got chunked chicken. My rice was really, really, really bad. It tasted like soap. I couldn't even swallow my bite. It truly left me wondering if the pot it was cooked in didn't get rinsed well. It tasted like cleaning chemicals. The refried black beans were just off. So soupy you couldn't use a fork for them and the flavor was just weird. Not thinking, we tried to call and tell them at the very least that the enchiladas were incorrect, but quickly remembered there was not a good number to reach them. My husband found the receipt and tried the number on it. Same thing. Number not in service. Now we're at home with yucky food we can't even call about. This place has just gotten weird. The prices are waaaaay too high for something that was worse than tv dinner food. $13 for 2 enchiladas I didn't even order because the rice and beans were too gross to touch. I can't help but to think they've changed management. It is Saturday night and the place was dead. Totally different from the Lupe's I remember a year ago. Sadly, we won't...
Read moreWe unfortunately had a pretty unpleasant experience at Lupe’s tonight. It started out a bit poorly that the waitress didn’t take drink orders for half of the table until she came back with the drinks from the other half of the table that had already ordered. The chips tasted super off, like they had been fried in old oil and had a really bitter aftertaste. We told the waitress and she brought more, but they tasted exactly the same.
I had ordered shrimp enchiladas and after the food arrived and I had taken a few bites, I realized that they were spinach and not shrimp. The waitress said it would be a “quick fix” to get a new dish, but by the time the shrimp ones arrived everyone else at the table was almost finished with their food. I had been so hungry and so a few people at the table offered to share some of their plates since the chips were essentially inedible and I had to wait so long. And the wait was not worth it as the enchiladas were very average, and I would not order again.
We also ordered sopapillas at the end, which arrived burnt and also tasted bitter at the end like the chips. Probably fried in the same old oil as the tortilla chips.
Based on this experience, none of the 7 of us at dinner are planning to return to this place. The waitress was nice and was trying, but the service was not good and the food also left a lot to be desired, especially...
