Matty's Sporthouse Grill — Restaurant in Kelly Township

First time at Matty’s check in and seating was quick. Proper precautions we’re taking up. Everyone Warmath, social distancing was perfect with each table being separated. Whenever you would leave the table to go to the restaurant back on your mouth. The food that I had was the occasion shrimp over steak with a stuffed loaded potato on the tomato soup the house special soup it was amazing my children had an amazing meal they were very happy with the chicken tenders and fries. My husband was very pleased with the tomato soup also but a little disappointed with the garlic mashed potatoes it was no garlic in there. Now the reason why I gave it three stars was because our waitress was not very attentive. Once we were seated she came to us maybe about 10 minutes later and took our order. Food comes out in a timely fashion she puts the phone down and walked away. I had taken my child to the restroom I come back and ask my husband where are the utensils? We were serving dinner with not one utensil I had to get up on my own because she was nowhere to be found. I kept looking around for her and she never came by that time my steak was cold. I got up I went to the barmaid and asked to please to give me four sets of silverware. I was very disappointed that I had to get up on my own and to get my silverware plus she served us with no napkins. I was highly disappointed how she barely came to the table and how do you serve dinner soups chicken steak with no silverware no napkins I’m sorry but that was uncalled for and every time I look for her she was not to be found. At the end of aOf our meal, I waited for the check. I want to get out of there because I was pretty cold for the air conditioner blowing right on top of my back and my head. So I had to chase her around to finally get my check so I can then leave. My overall experience was good I will not say that it’s a beautiful restaurant beautiful sports bar wonderful Food and the other customers in the restaurant style very nice and social distance with a mask and everything. So that was my only complaint I’m sure if I had another waitress everything would be different but this one waitress I’m sorry not Professional and her customer service skills were horrible and I’m sorry. But I would love to visit again like I said I wasn’t disappointed in anything else just...

I convinced a group of 32 people to eat at this establishment after having a great experience the day before and, Boy was I embarrassed to have suggested it.

I now understand why their reviews are sub par. First our appetizers took forever to come out when every other table had theirs, even ordering after us. I ordered the cheese curds, a French onion soup and the Italian beef sandwich.The cheese curds were over cooked which cause most of the cheese to extrude out and we received 70% dry batter. After giving it the benefit of a doubt, I received my French onion soup which was only half way full and had no broth underneath thr cheese. I asked the waitress on our adjacent table about the issue. She quickly dismissed me and stated that she would go get out waitress. After 10 minutes waiting, I asked the same waitress to please get our waitress and she replied "she's coming". After another 5 minutes, our waitress shows up completely unaware that wrle were expecting her. I requested to speak to a manager. The manager showed up a couple of minutes later only to tell me that she was "educating the kitchen staff that the soup needed less croutons" at that point our food started coming out and to my further disappointment, my sandwich was ice cold and greasy, to the point of the chase being hard and the bread soggy.

Once again, the manager came by our table and I requested for my food to not be cooked and taken off my bill. I just sat there without food while everyone else ate lukewarm, mediocre food. I even had to return my bill because it contained items from someone else from the group.

I didn't receive an apology or even an attempt to make the situation better.

Needless to say, this was extremely embarrassing and frustrating and we will not return to this restaurant.

What a complete...

I would like to begin by saying our family has always enjoyed dining at Matty’s...until yesterday.

Our order consisted of a bread bowl spinach dip and pickle fries. Prior to that, we ordered a beer. After placing our order with the waitress, she stated our order must be for something that includes meat to have an alcoholic beverage. We said ok please change it to an order of wings then. Not only did we receive the wings, they brought out the spinach dip and pickle fries and proceeded to tell us if we didn’t order more food we couldn’t have another round of beers. We already had more food than we could finish so I couldn’t comprehend why we would need to purchase more food to have another beer. We packed up our food, paid the bill, tipped the waitress 20% and left.

We are well aware of the restrictions in our area. The restrictions do not mention anything about having a meat on your bill. The manager was also extremely rude when I approached him for an explanation. He asked me if I visited other establishments in our area. My response was yes, and they aren’t doing this. None of them. He then said he didn’t care.

So if you’re a vegetarian who enjoys a beverage with your meal, this isn’t a place for you.
