A magical experience! I know - extreme hyperbole for coffee, right? I'd never been here before. I was in the neighborhood and wanted iced coffee. I chose the locally-owned shop over the big national chain nearby. A cheerful greeting set the tone. I don't get that from the big chain. Everyone at the national chain place always seems run down, punching a clock. Then, after placing an order for iced coffee, I was patiently provided a range of milk offerings, and - here comes the magical part - I was asked what color I like my iced coffee to be - if I like the color to change. Why, yes! Thank you for asking! I like my iced coffee to be creamy, to take the edge off the coffee acidity. Isn't that how it always should be? Most places just top off a cup with ice and then coffee, and drizzle in a few molecules of milk. In my lifetime, I can't recall any other coffee shop that has asked this particular question about coffee color, and it was perfectly asked. I don't know about the rest of you, but these little details make the difference. I didn:t stay to dine, but I noticed that guest diners' food was plated nicely, and everything in the place looked clean and well organized. These are all signs of good ownership, and good management, focused on worker satisfaction, and cultivating a happy and loyal repeat customer experience. Again, however mundane my order was, it was still a magical experience. No, I have no idea who the owners are. I'm just an average guy who...
Read moreSomething serious has changed at Chateau Cafe. It was one of my favorite places. Back in February i ordered take out for my family of five including a burger cooked medium. When i got home the burger was rare. My husband cooked it more so I didn't call. I get it mistakes happen. Second time, ordered for my family of five and my order was wrong. Too much going on that day for me to worry about it, it wasn't a big deal, I didn't call. Tonight, I order for four. 1 hamburger cooked medium-well. I get it home and its rare and with cheese. Strike 3 this time I call them. Its 5 minutes to closing time, i feel bad calling. I tell Gabriel about the burger, he asked if id like to bring it back and they will make another one. I am annoyed because its 9:00 at night, i don't live around the corner from the place, I'm exhaused and hungry but i decided to go. Once there I tried to show the female employee the rare burger. She says she doesn't want to see it and that she believes me. Gabriel apologized for the problem and offered me a pastry, I took one but kind of felt guilty about it. Waited a few more minutes untill it comes out. When I opened the box and saw no fries! This is why I am here making this review. That made me so mad. I brought a raw burger back with a side of fries and I was given a burger with no fries. I'm done with them but...
Read moreI do not usually give reviews, but this messed up my whole day.
The food is good, and most of the staff is friendly - One bad apple should not ruin it for the rest. We have been their several times - food and service was great. However, I recommend everyone get a receipt for their order if not do not put in another order nor return anything if it's not correct. I ordered a chai latte with my food order and later ordered an second chai latte. The person who took the order for my second chai latter made a mistake and gave me a latte instead (I do not like coffee) . I returned it requesting to be re-done. I did not think twice - However, when I received the 2nd corrected drink. I was accused of not paying for my drink. - No matter what we said the server continued to ask for the 2nd receipt which my husband did not get and accuse us on not paying for my drink. Then the server's family arrived to be served and step into our conversation. The 2 people at the counter, listened and apologize for the mistake. However, the environment was very uncomfortable so we left. - - Remember to...
