I was in Kennewick and was excited to get my favorite pizza. I went in to place the order and was told it was gonna be about a 30 wait. There was one table occupied with some baseball kids And that was it. I went to run a few errands and then come back and was involved in an accident. Somebody hit me. they told my car and took me to the hospital to be evaluated. My car was totaled and I have been on bedrest for the last three days. I remembered today that I had ordered the pizza and pay cash for it and never got it because on my way back I was. sideswiped. I called and spoke with the lady on the phone and she spoke to her manager she said, and the manager said that they will not reimburse the pizza I have to pay 35 bucks for a new one!! Did not offer a discount even!! I try to support small businesses here in town and always choose local restaurants rather than large chain restaurants. I have been a faithful customer For over 50 years. Sad to say this will be the last attempt to get a pizza from her. I will instead go to Shakey’s, which is down the street from my home. Whenever I’m craving my pickle face #3 RoadIe. His experience has left nasty taste in my mouth, and I wanted to share how they treat their local loyal, frequent customers. This was an unseen medical emergency due to car accident that was not my fault. They cared about nothing more than getting another $35 out of me for a pizza. I’m sure they are one of the employees were able to take home and enjoy with family! It was nice knowing you, Hubby hopefully this isn’t happened to you anytime soon. Oh by the way, thank you I’m feeling better Hubby that was kind of you to ask!! Haha Not! Customer service rating is -5...
Read moreA pizza joint with an outdoor playground! Seriously, we have not seen that before. It was what caught our attention on a previous trip to Kennewick. We were determined to visit on this most recent trip. Upon walking into Hubby’s we were hit with waves of nostalgia! From the large wooden table and matching benches, prize machines, arcade games, and even a small salad bar - it gave off an 80’s feel with modern updates (games, jukebox, etc.) You can even watch as they make your pizza through the large bank of windows around the kitchen area. Though we were there at dinner, the menu states that they have lunch specials Monday to Friday. The menu includes some Favorites or Create Your Own pizzas, breads, salad bar and sandwiches. Coke products, beer and wine are also available. Pizza range in size - 8”, 10” 13”, and 16”. Toppings are pretty standard, but also includes smoked oysters and anchovies. I would like to point out that it does state on the takeout menu that the “mushrooms” are canned, but you can request fresh. The house made crust has the best of both a cracker crust and a more doughy one. My hubby called it medium thickness. It has a nice crispy exterior, while the interior was nice and soft. Good classic sauce - not too sweet. That old-school cheese blend that has some cheddar in it- makes me think of school pizza. The flavor and texture really reminded of the pizza joints of the 80’s which made us smile. We really did love the pizza. I look forward to coming back to try other items on the menu. Thank you Hubby’s Pizza for taking me back to...
Read moreI love this place!
The pizza is not the best I have ever tasted. The beer selection is seriously lacking. The atmosphere is the typical pizza joint.
What makes a place good is not necessarily how each category is individually tallied though, and this place is living proof.
Food:
The pizza is good and cheap. There aren't any fancy topping combinations that will make you say " I never thought I would see that on a pizza" (we're looking at you Mellow Mushroom), but the crust is good and it comes out fast and hot. The beer selection is not that good, but honestly when you are talking about beer and pizza most people don't think of top-shelf beer anyways and this place brings back memories of the places you could afford when you were a teenager or in college.
Atmosphere:
It is a smaller place with seating for about 50 or so people with tables and bench seating around some and plastic chairs around others. There is a small arcade area if you are into that sort of thing but you can also escape it if you don't want to hear pinball machines and generic racing games throughout your meal. The real draw for me is the fenced playground that they have outside with some more seating around it. It is my opinion that every restaurant should have an enclosed play area where parents can let their kids play and they can eat in peace without having to worry too much about their safety.
In closing this pizza joint's sum is definitely greater than its individual parts and I would highly recommend checking it out, especially if...
