Finally tried IHOP for the first time ever. Was NOT impressed and most likely will not return. If I'm paying you to provide me a good (not decent)but a good meal you'd best do it right the first time. I'm not talking even awesome food since these kinds of restaurants rarely are capable. BUT. First thing we noticed was the parking lot was packed, so felt like we were in for a fantastic meal. Really? Could that be possible? Walked in, packed. YAY for us, food must be awesome! The waitress had sweat poring off her like rain. I felt right then we should leave. But she was very friendly, so, bless her, she's overworked at the rush lunch hour. Ordered steak and eggs (O/E), no choice if we'd rather have potatoes or toast, forced to take the hotcakes. Vegetable omelette w/toast. A side of french fries and fried potatoes. Wait. Wait. Wait. Food arrives. Toast is burnt like a charred piece of wood. Eggs over easy are fried with the yolk hard and the whites with crispy edges. YUCK. Both sides of potatoes were a total RIP OFF! Like a hand full from a small hand no less. Over salty. The steak was cooked well done as ordered but tasteless. Only 'decent' thing was the vegetable omelette. We basically halved the omelette, halved the steak(with lots of sauce) and had a few bites of the chocking dry hotcakes and left incredibly dissatisfied. We aren't "Karens/Kens" so we did not fuss because I feel the best way to make a statement is to never waste a dime in a place that is mediocre. Who in their right mind sees burnt toast and thinks it's edible? How is it sooo many things in one order came back so messed up? The message I got is they just don't care about customer satisfaction. So be it. I cannot see how the place was so busy except to say coming from a large city where great food is a must, otherwise people move on, no time to waste eating yuck food and worse paying for yuck food. Thinking small time folks settle way too easily. That or they've never had really awesome food and service. I'll take Shari's, Denny's or even Original Pancake House (none great but none as bad as this place) any day. Denny's is another place that's as stingy AF with the fries. Dairy Queen too. So if you're ever in the mood for french fries pass on these two. I guess when looking for a tasty and filling breakfast, food prepared as requested we'll stick...
Read moreReview is like 3.5 stars, but that is not an option. So it's a chain, so it has chain style food which is fine since I know that when eating at places like this means- not an innovative meal, but usually a consistent one. The restaurant was clean with very friendly servers (the waiter was fantastic!). But they must be short staffed in the kitchen because with a nearly empty restaurant the food took over 45 minutes. I really appreciated that my food came out exactly how I asked when at many places they make mistakes with my choices. Hash browns were extra crispy (and I heard the waiter confirm before it was brought out, which is awesome), my over easy eggs were cooked correctly (no undercooked whites which is a pet peeve), toast was dry as requested (many places slather it in butter ignoring my request), the lemon ricotta berry crepe was damn delicious, bacon crispy, pancakes fluffy, ect. Also I love that they have vegetarian sausage now, and it's actually quite tasty. So why only 3.5 stars with all these positives? Well...the food was cold. Not sure how long it sat before being brought out, but nothing was warm. Also several items were forgotten, until requested. The seasonal holiday drink was missing a component and this was left unmentioned when ordering. Food also took a long time considering how few customers there were, which made it coming to the table cold more unacceptable. Also, the French toast isn't great. The bread was not soaked nearly long enough for how thick it was, so the inside was basically toast instead of the custard texture it should be. But overall, it was decent breakfast fare, and I'd be willing to...
Read moreShould have walked out when we noticed it wasn't busy but it still took a bit of us standing by the hostess station to be noticed and approached. Our server, Nessy, sat us at a table that hadn't been cleaned (paper garbage still on the table which she grabbed and I think hoped I hadn't noticed, as well as water rings from cups, some pepper, and a sticky spot from what I assume was syrup). The table had no silverware either. Once we were ready to order, Nessy took our orders and brought our drinks but she never came by to refill them, or even thought to ask if we wanted refills. Another girl brought our food out to us and I believe she was kitchen staff as she didn't have a name tag on. She was the one who finally brought silverware for us. The food was very bland, I had strawberry banana protein pancakes and my sister had the cowboy bbq burger. The burger was so bland and greasy she didn't even finish it. When we wanted to pay, we had to wait at the register for Nessy to come out to take our card.
During our whole experience, Nessy was more interested in talking to a coworker (I didn't get her name either because she never left the area by the kitchen doors) and being on her phone than attending to the people she was supposed to be helping. We will not be returning to this location but I do hope that management sees this and reviews their phone and work policies with...
