We catered a work lunch through Azteca and the entire experience was terrible: the service, the food, the timing and the response to our problems.
One of our vendors kindly provided us with visa gift cards in order to buy lunch for the office for the holidays, we know that some places will accept these and some places will not, so we called Azteca, let them know our budget and how many people we were looking to feed. They assured us they could take the cards, they quoted us a price within our budget and gave us a menu.
Everyone was really looking forward to getting together for a fun office party. The day of the lunch arrived and absolutely everything went wrong. The lunch was somehow both late and cold, our receptionist had to wait in their lobby for nearly a half hour after the time they told us it would be ready. They told us (once the food was finally ready) that the price had gone up (taking it outside of our budget) AND that they couldn't accept the gift cards. We had to scramble and have one of our managers pay for the lunch instead.
When we tried to talk about the issues they told us that the person who took the order wasn't in the restaurant that day and that they were the only person who could help us.
Once we got the food back to the office (and by this point everyone was angry-hungry because it was quite late), we realized that the order was wrong! We didn't get the food we were expecting at all, we only received one type of meat and no soft taco shells at all.
The food itself was just awful. As well as being cold, the meat was extremely greasy and poorly seasoned, the re-fried bean somehow managed to be slimy and the taco shells were stale.
We were all extremely disappointed. It was supposed to be a time for us to chow down and enjoy each other's company, but instead it was a hungry, angry day. We ended up throwing away most of the food.
We have still not heard back from the only person at the restaurant who could help us at Azteca. We cater a number of events every year and we will not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSEE NEW UP DATE BELOW Have been coming here for years...I especially noticed that my 'single' person 2 item Steak&Shrimp Fraitas was a bit skimpy... The usual 6 pieces of shrimp, then 6-7 strips of a poor quality strip/flank steak. Still 'filling' with the rice/beans/guac. & SOUR cream etc with flour tortillas... Yeah I know costs going up, but guess they're doing the best for prices. NOW, it was except for the tough steak, it's usual good taste... and the other 2 people got good Chicken Fraitas and Beef Burk to plates...Service was attentive and quick....see you soon again... UPDATE: 5-5-18 Cinco de Mayo. GOT the same meal, but steak tasted better, but 5 pieces of Shrimp/7STEAK STRIPS OF FLANK...Sucked! at cost about $20. Meal taste was good but the value has gone down. EMPLOYEE costs up just because of forced idea from Seattle City Council Socialist Sawant., even 20miles south in Kent. The customers all over Puget Sound are suffering because of her...the server seemed devious when I asked to split co certain way...she dodge my request, fending she couldn't do it... UPDATE: 4-6-19 I JUST HAD STEAK & SHRIMP again tonite in FEDERAL WAY! Even being in a large group there, I had about 3 times as much steak and about 7 nice shrimp pieces at Federal Way vs Kent. I hope KENT SEE's this, because I'm giving Fed Way 5 starts for tonight's Correct and satisfying dinner! Yeah, same chain but different mgr. In Fed Way. I will try Kent one more time and let them know if they aren't up to par... and Tukwila/ South Center has to start looking at order and customer satisfaction... I have now felt short changed by Kent...not one but at lesast 3 times. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood was excellent, however our server was aloof. She hardly paid attention to us when we were placing our order which lead to confusion with one of our orders. My friend placed an order for a main dish of Flautas and an order of a Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos appetizer that was on the specials board by the door. She wasn't listening and wrote down the dinner special which was Carne Asada instead. Later she came back and asked about if he wanted the days special Carne Asada or the Flautas. He said "I didn't order Carne Asada I ordered the daily special appetizer." She said OK. Later on all age brought was the Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos. I quietly inquired "Are you still bringing his Flautas?" She said "Did he want Flautas?" I said "Yes he wanted both." So she went off and placed the order, they came 10 minutes later after we were all done eating so he just boxed it to go. I would have expected some kind of price adjustment due to him not getting his main dish but no adjustment was offered. But we're also not the complaining type so we didn't request.
The food was good, service sucked the first time we went to this location. I'm only going to deduct 1 star because that's not going to be what we...
