Franklin Square Deli — Restaurant in Kent

I went in to the shop today and was greeted by the owner. I asked for a Cuban with a few things off the sandwich because of food preferences. He began to criticize me and he barely let me order my sandwich the way I wanted it in the first place... not to mention while making my sandwich, the whole time he continued to criticize and patronize the choices I made for a sandwich I was going to be eating, not him. He then personally came up to me afterwards to have a conversation about why I should just eat the sandwich how it’s originally made and how he dislikes when people come in asking for changes. I feel if someone were to have problems with eating, this scenario would of been devastating. If someone is very self conscious about what they eat, he could of completely ruined the one food they could tolerate. I used to go every week and order the same sandwich, but I was made so uncomfortable by the owner patronizing me over a sandwich. I will more than likely not be going back. The plain and simple fact is that I was eating the sandwich and PAYING HIM to make something I wanted to eat. My money will go to kind & accommodating...

I had a horrible experience with the Franklin Square Deli In Kent Ohio. I called on the phone to order a tuna melt. Apparently their standard tuna melt comes on a bagel. I asked to have my Tuna MELT on whole wheat bread. I told the person on the phone 3 times that I wanted a Tuna Melt on wheat. I walked all the way to the Deli and back to my office. Upon arriving at my office i realized I had a cold tuna sandwich with no cheese. I called and the owner answered the phone. He was extremely rude to me, told me that I would have to come back down to get another sandwich, told me I gave a confusing order and hung up the phone on me. I can't believe an owner would treat customers so rudely. I will never go back and will tell all my colleagues to not...

We really love the food, but every time we’ve been here, service is mediocre at best. The employees seem so unhappy… They don’t smile, they have spats with each other right in front of customers, and they don’t pay attention… This last time we were given our food and I was ignored forever while standing there waiting to pay, so I just sat down with my husband and ate my meal… Walked up afterward and said I’d like to pay for my food now, and they were all very confused. Could’ve had a free meal… and honestly we deserved it. Plus the food is kind of pricey. Not saying we’ll never eat here again, but we’ll definitely not be...
