Went here for the first time with my family, we'd always heard good things about them so we figured we'd try them out. Our mistake was not making a reservation, there wasn't anything online saying we should, we figured the wait wouldn't be too bad, especially because there were only 4 of us. There were three small groups of people ahead of us, we were told it would be a 10-20 min wait. While waiting some other people had walked in and waited inside the restaurant, some had reservations and got seated quickly which I understand. The three groups in front of us were called so we moved inside thinking we would be called next. Groups of 2 or 3 people continued to come in and they didn't have reservations because they said no when they gave their names. There were two women sitting at the desk by the door, the one was only answering phone calls or taking names and the other was just sitting there when she wasn't making the silverware baskets. Another woman came up and was doing the seating, there was no organization, she didn't go down the list in order or by # of people in the group. There were multiple tables opening up that sat 4 people, I thought we would be next to be seated unless a reservation came in, which one did and was seated before us, I understand that. However, there were 2 groups of two people that were sat at four person tables that came in after us without reservations. (Others were sat at the 2 person tables or the bar.) A 4 person table opened up and a booth had been open for over 10 minutes. The woman doing the seating called our name and came over and told us she'd seat us next. 5 minutes later she called the name of another 2 person walk in and sat them at the open 4 person table. The booth was still open but she didn't seat us there, we waited another ten minutes before another table opened up and she finally put us there. They need a seating chart or something else to keep them organized. The 2 women sitting at the desk should've been keeping track of what time people came in for walk ins and went in order by who came in first and what tables were open. We waited over an hour for a table, if it was up to me I would've left. The food was okay, I tried to clean up an image of their current menu that I found. I'm going to stick with places where I can get more than just 3 pancakes for over $13. The only reason I gave 3 stars was because our waitress that took our order was so sweet, and so were the ones who helped bring...
Read moreGreat food great experience. I was alone so got seated at the bar which was fine. Server took my order right away and the food came out very promptly. I got a burger and fries at 10:50 am and I really appreciated being able to do that and not have to order breakfast food which I don't love. Burger was cooked the way I wanted it, medium rare. Fries were good. Burger came with chips which I had to ask for because they assumed I wouldn't want them plus the fries. Moral of the story, if I'm paying for it, I want it, and I like to put chips on my sandwiches, I'm classy like that. Again, the server took care of it right away. I don't know if the chips were homemade or just kettle chips or something but they were a little boring. I mean if they were homemade they were homemade from the day before. But all in all it was a great experience. They've done a nice job with the decor. The server was nice, professional and friendly without doing that thing where they try to be your pal. But maybe that's gone out of fashion. I thought they had a good menu although maybe a little heavy on the chorizo. A little chorizo goes a long way. Btw chorizo is Mexican sausage so don't order a chorizo skillet and then be mad that it's not vegetarian lol. I thought the prices were perfectly reasonable. I'm pretty picky and this was a...
Read moreThis place went way down hill after they moved out of their original location. This seems to be a trend with great concepts, they do really well, then they try to expand beyond their means and go belly up. The food quality and quality of service used to be absolutely perfect every time, regardless of the wait time at the old place. Now there is little that separates this place from every other breakfast spot in the area. Pretty disappointing. This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant in Kent, but once they moved and the quality seemed to change drastically, I have no desire to go there. Such a terrible shame. This place used to have something unique and artistic to say through a culinary, but now it seems like it’s just another basic profit machine. Please get back to your roots! My friends, family, and I all greatly miss the old Over Easy!
Everyone I know who’s been here before and after the move would MUCH rather wait for an hour to get a table at the greatest breakfast spot in town than get seated right away at the worst. I hope the owners see this and keep...
