Rockne's — Restaurant in Kent

Our experience was awesome from the get go. I’ve been here numerous times and will always return for the food alone. But today we went in around 1pm, and honestly it wasn’t very busy, but I took my 4yr old son in by myself, just waiting for pure chaos on his behalf. From the door to the door, my son loved it as well as I did. When we came in, the host at the door (an older gentleman) seated us in a booth nearby. My son tried flagging him down later on. He immediately engaged with my son telling him that coloring and lunch with dad is awesome and left him and myself both joyful as we waited for our lunch. My son and I both love that it looked unique/ professional inside along with the interesting but not over the top decor surrounding each table. The server we had, Emma, she was absolutely amazing. She was extremely kind, interacting with my son in conversation, refills were on point, and even timed up my request of “later on” dessert for him perfectly. Even when though they weren’t very busy, we had numerous staff engaging with us. One of Emma’s fellow servers came to us to offer to buss our table just to help the fellow coworker. Great experience once again, we will be returning soon! Love this place!! Terminator is the go to! Very cost...

I have been visiting Rockne's since they opened in Kent. I have to say that if you are looking for a good Sandwhich, Soup or Salad this is the place. I do not recommend their steaks, or pasta. Yuk. I had the filet on my visit before last and it was horrible, and tried their Alfredo this time. Yuk. It was nothing more than a jar of Ragu poured out over luke warm noodles. It was edible, but will not order again. However if you want a fabulous Salad this is the place. Personal favorite is the Chicken Fruit Salad with the Raspberry Vinagerette. I add Ranch and Sunflower seeds as well. In addition I am very partial to the chicken and dumpling soup if prepared properly (sometimes it is not). I also recommend 1/2 Sandwhich (Rueben is my favorite, but there is a better one in town) and Soup. Service, atmosphere and value have always been good. My husband loves their fries. If you are looking for a quiet restaraunt this is not the place for you. This has a sports bar in it and is sort of themed after one. In all the years I have been going there I have NEVER had bad service. Choose your food...

I learned from the hostess at the front that she used to eat there a lot as a child before her working years, and now she works there. That tells me the place has been there for a long time. I had never been to the one in Kent, but had visited other Rockne's locations. I was never disappointed at the other locations. Much appreciation and respect to management of this restaurant! Even after all these years, the men's room was almost immaculate, the food was fresh and hot, the service from our waitress was very good, and the ornate ceiling and enviro looked clean and well maintained! Also, the portions were NOT small or getting smaller as you find at so many casual dining places today! I had something left to take home- though i did also purchase an appetizer. I also appreciated the variety of dips and sauces that came with the meal in satisfying sized souffle cups! I did not have to ASK for them, and it adds alot of charm to the meal because its a perk that you don't usually put together for yourself when eating at home. I will visit again if so...
