My family and I went in about 3:00pm during the week, but it was pretty busy for that time of day. For the price, and the fact it was a buffet, the food was okay. Clearly the food is prepackaged and pre-prepared where it's basically heat and serve on the line.
2 stars for food because there wasn't much of a meat selection and cook of things. There was fried chicken, grilled chicken, chicken livers, and spam (I think was "supposed" to be ham but the closest thing it came to would've been chopped ham); nothing was labeled. A beef (hamburger or steak), seafood item, and hotdog or sausage options would have been nice. Later the spam was replaced with beanie weenies. There was a large selection of sides to choosed from mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked sweet and regular potatoes, veggies(green beans, carrots, and corn). Dessert was frosted vanilla cake, frosted chocolate cake, 2 or 3 kinds of cookies, bread pudding, banana pudding, and chocolate pie. There was in ice cream machine, but i dont know if it was working as I didn't try it. The grilled chicken was seasonsed well, however the pieces my husband and I grabbed were both cold. The chicken livers were a pan of fried ugliness. If any of the breading remained, it was soggy grease and oily; we all avoided them. Regular and sweet baked potatoes were good; not hot, but edible. The salad bar and cold salad type items were okay. I did see several staff members constantly checking the buffet line to keep the food replinished. The desert was okay. The cakes were dry and crumbly; not very good. The bread pudding was extremely sweet and overpowered by cinnamon. The banana pudding was pretty good; it was the best dessert available.
5 stars for service because our wiatress came by frequently and was attentive and as stated before the kitchen staff tried to keep the buffet table stocked. Additionally a manager did stop at every table to check in.
3 stars (really only 2.5 but thats not an option) for atmosphere because the restaurant was clean. However, this place is in desperate need of updating. Eveything in the dining area looks like it has been there since 1987 including tables, chairs, carpet,...
Read moreDecided to go to Corbin for the heck of it, got a little hungry, thought this would be a good place to eat.
Building was very big, and the inside had a lot of open spots to sit in the far left where it was peaceful and stayed peaceful. Loved the atmosphere, too, very casual. I did end up getting startled my own reflection because the way this mirror was placed, but that doesn't matter lol
The waitress was nice. The workers there move at a decent pace as far as walking, which makes it easier to not accidentally bump in to someone. Nice!
With that out of way, let's talk about the food.
I ordered from the buffet, so I will talk about the food from the buffet plus the rolls. Rolls - soft and puffy just like a cloud, nice and buttery. Very delicious. Mashed potatoes with gravy - when I took the first bite from the mashed potatoes it was a bit watery which gave me flashbacks of the day I had mashed potatoes at camp, so I was upset at first, however, when I got further in the potatoes, it was soft and smooth. The gravy was good, too. Sweet baby carrots - sweet and a tiny bit salty, Soft to chew. Loved them. Chicken - absolutely delicious! Crispy, juicy. That's how chicken is supposed to be Mac and cheese - very creamy. Delicious Green beans - I think it had a little bit of butter because it tasted lightly salty. Tasted pretty good. Ribs - BBQ sauce was really sweet, outside was really tender and the pork was soft to chew. Still very good.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish my second plate because I got full which made me sad. I didn't think to ask if they had any to-go boxes so I could finish my chicken and ribs later, but I assumed they didn't have any because some buffets don't allow people to take leftovers home. I apologise for not finishing my food.
This was worth the time and money. Food was delicious and the place itself is just great.
If ever decide to visit Corbin, Kentucky visit this restaurant, I highly recommend you come to this place.

Read moreToday Feb. 3 2016. 2 PM My wife and i went here. We had been here several times and always were impressed with the service and food quality. However Today wasnt the case. Upon arriving we were greeted warmly and waited on excellently as usual. But the courtesy stopped there. Once we were seated. And got our food the waitress who was waiting on us came by once and got our drinks for us. Then never stopped back again. When we wanted to go back up to buffet for our main courses. The waitress walked by us several times and never once offered to bring us our plates. My wife got up and went to the waitress station and got our plates for us. And not once did this waitress ever come back around for anything. After finding out she was a fill in because our regular waitress was on break. The regular waitress stopped by our table and let us know she was off break. (we didnt even know she was our waitress.) Also she never returned to ask if we wanted any more plates or refills etc. When we got up to leave. My wife pointed out a xanax pill laying on the floor right near the table behind us. I was speechless. Ive been going to this restaurant for 10 years or more and always had wonderful experiences and food. The food lacked the same quality ive came to know and enjoy. And my wife was quite disappointed as she really looked forward to eating there. Even had recommended it to several of our friends. If this is the way Davids steak house is going to be operated and staffed. I can pretty much promise we wont be returning and will also be informing all our friends about the poor service and lower quality food. Good eating places are so few and far between in corbin. And im sure the area would not like to see another once good place to eat go the way of the other places that have closed up because staff and management. Want to cut corners and or allow discourteous employees to...
