Ordered online. When we got our food home we were missing most of our kids meal. It’s suppose to have drinks and fries/ apple sauce. We didn’t get the two apple juices the fries and a apple sauce. When I called the store the person in charge ( Amber) was called to the phone. When I explained she said that’s not how it came up on the screen. I said well I’m not paying $5 for a small 3 way and $3 for a plain Hot Dog. She said well that’s how much they cost anyway. I said no they don’t how are you going to make this right. She said I’ll write your name down and you can come get it later. I explained we were visiting from Alabama. She said she could have it ready. I told her we would be there in 15 minutes. When my dad showed up he asked for the food and asked for additional conies. Amber said she wasn’t going to give any free food. He said he had spent time to get this. She said keep up asking for free food and I won’t give you this I got for you here. She finally gave it to my dad. Then slammed the door. We always get conies from Gold Star on Mt. Zion. In fact we had stopped in on Saturday before Thanksgiving. They were wonderful. Our kids meal even had cookies. Not this time, just a main course of RUDE. We’ve always choose to go to the Mt Zion location because the one on Mall rd always messed up our order and took forever. Guess I’ll take Gold Star off my must stops if this is how they are going to treat customers let alone an 84...
Read moreWe stopped by the Gold Star Chili on Mount Zion Road for dinner before heading to a Y’alls game and had a great experience. We ordered the chili hamburger platter with fries, the spicy chicken sandwich platter, and two cheese coneys. It was our first time trying both the hamburger and the chicken sandwich — and they were excellent!
Fair warning: the spicy chicken sandwich really brings the heat. If you’re not a fan of spice, you might want to go with the regular chicken instead. The side of fries that came with each platter was surprisingly generous — plenty to share or just enjoy yourself!
The restaurant was very quiet during our visit, with only one other couple dining in. The space was clean, the atmosphere was calm, and our server was attentive. Food arrived quickly, and everything came out hot and fresh. Our only small note was that the cheese coneys had a bit more mustard than we personally prefer — but that’s just a matter of taste.
Overall, this was a great stop for a quick, clean, and convenient meal. If you’re looking to enjoy some Cincinnati-style chili, this location is definitely...
Read moreArrived at 11, one hour before close. I called and they advised they would be closing at 11:30 immediately. I told them I was in a big truck and asked if it would be ok to walk up to the window? They said “Dine in is closed.” I restarted my compromise (No customers in line or of recent.) He said, “Yeah, I guess that’s ok” I asked it would be ok if I ordered over the phone with an attempt to prevent any delays clearly they are having a horrible night for some reason. He replied, “Nope, you can order the window.” In the most condescending manor possibly. The manager in orange met with the younger guy to discuss the call. The manager in orange unprofessionally scolded him as during the entire call I was outside in my truck observing.
Decided to not order anything, this is my 3rd and final absolutely negative experience with this location specific. Is there no leadership over operations? Or is...
