Press Start Video Games & More — Local services in Florence

Just had my second visit here and man, I can't believe such great local businesses go under the radar like Press Start. Even though Nostalgic Video Games is MUCH closer to me, I've made it a point to come to this spot while I'm out if Nostalgic doesn't have what I'm looking for (I always prefer to shop small businesses when and where I can).

While it's a smaller store, it's incredibly neatly organized and clean and utilizes the space quite well I must say. The Owner is an awesome guy, is always helpful and has a satisfaction guarantee (how often do you see that these days?) The vast majority of the game cases are sealed in protective plastic to protect the card art which is always a plus to retro collectors. The prices are fair, aren't gouging and the owner will adjust them accordingly to current aftermarket/retail value and even bumped a game for me down after updating the price! And to top it all off, this business is Pro 2nd Amendment! I feel safe and secure coming and going from here knowing it supports responsible firearm carriers and you should too.

Bottom line, it's a respectable small business, amicable prices with an old school customer service attitude and decent stock in all things retro. I've been back twice and will continue to come back because you just don't get this same quality of service and satisfaction from any of the chains or department stores. My only complaint is there isn't a rewards program of some kind for customers but hopefully in due time the Owner comes up with something feasible that works for them. Regardless, I'll be returning again and again. We need more businesses like this in our community! I'd give 10...

Their customer service is excellent, their prices are very reasonable, and they have layaway all year round. So if you are reading these reviews, and you are wanting to get your game on, Press Start Games is the place for you. 30% layaway down payment on any console, game, or collectible. If you want a $20 game but don't have the whole $20, put it in layaway till it's paid in full. Very knowledgeable when repairing consoles, they have a disc cleaning machine to clean your discs, free game play to keep the kids occupied, and customer loyalty discount. Awesome little gem. Guy that works in here is super ultra friendly. They give pretty good trade amounts back too compared to anyone else. They have a clean store, and a great selection if you’re into older games! They do have a return policy if something doesn’t work, make sure it works when you get home. They also check the items but sometimes stuff gets through and I get that, they will go out of their way to make it right. I mean it when I say this store is good. They are ultra nice.
