First time customer. We were only a family of 4 at the door. Waited 5-10min to be noticed. 7pm on Monday night. Then a table had to be bused to accommodate bcuz all open tables were dirty. They were not that busy. Waited another 10 min to be asked if we had been waited on. Waitress took drink order. Came back with drinks and waitress immediately apologized for any of her screw ups that may happen (she apologized for dropping any dinners, etc). Odd way to take a dinner order. Burgers n kids chicken tenders took about 30 min. Waitress never refilled drinks within that 30min. Another waitress brought food. Seemed annoyed when we asked for ketchup. After that we asked another waitress for 3 refills, ranch for kids chicken dinner, cheese for the cheese burger. Our waitress returned to table with the items. Unfortunately she had another table of about 15 that was family that she was only worried about. She was too busy holding her child and talking and forgot about the rest of the business. The food was ok. None of our empty plates were cleared. Presentation of food was better than the average restaurant. Simple food and drinks were $43 (no tip) and 70 min of our time (50 min waiting). Staff seemed annoyed and not attentive. Other customers that came in after us seemed to be experiencing same thing. Food not worth the hassle and money was wasted. Can get better burger and service elsewhere (Montgomery Inn, Bobby Flays, etc.). I've waited tables for a long time. Service and experience was completely aweful. First time I...
Read moreFirst time visiting this place. Walked in for lunch, as I like to buy local, and the place seemed popular for the crowd they had inside. Took a couple of minutes to be greeted, but I was ok with that as they were busy. Since I was a party of one, I told them I could sit at the bar or that area. Once seated, the barmaid came with a menu and got my drink order, iced tea. She returned a few minutes later with my drink and to get my order. I ordered the turkey clubhouse with the upgrade side of fresh cut French fries. They had a few TV on in the bar which had golf and something else. Not too noisy, and the staff was pleasant. My order came out in about 8 to 10 minutes, which was fine. The presentation was very good. The sandwich was split and stacked, and the fries were in a mini fryer basket. My tea was very good and had a good flavor. The fries looked great, but it ended there. The fries were very chewy and overdone and were not salted at all. I put some of their grinder salt on to help, but it wasn't much help anyway. The sandwich ingredients were great. The bacon was crisp, as was the lettuce and tomato. The mayonnaise had great flavor, and the turkey was juicy. The bread was thick and doughy. They barely toasted the bread, and it really shot the sandwich overall. With the way they were busy, and the order being one that is a standard at a restaurant, and the up charge for the fries, I figured it would be a knockout. I left there thinking I probably won't return unless someone...
Read moreI had family in town and having never been here before myself we decided to try it out for lunch. I'm glad we did. We sat ourselves at a booth and were greeted quickly with menus and our drink order taken. We started with the fried pickles and they were some of the best I've had. Not overly breaded, great flavor and enough for the 3 of us.
Since we were new to the restaurant our server gave use some suggestions including items that feature the Alabama white barbecue sauce. I'd never had that kind of sauce so was interested in trying it. Two of us ordered the Bad Bama Jama burger that includes the white sauce, peppers, bacon and cheese. The other ordered the Alabama tacos. All the items were cooked well and everyone enjoyed them. For sides we selected the slaw with peanuts and that was a pleasant surprise. I've never had slaw served with peanuts before and enjoyed the flavor combination.
Service was prompt and very friendly. My only suggestion is related to the fried pickles. The serving size is enough for a few people but they only brought out one small cup of ranch sauce. Not a huge deal as they quickly brought us more when we asked, but it might be helpful to bring out a larger serving of ranch from the start to match the portion size. Overall a really good experience and I'll return in the future to try more...
