Hoshi Japanese express Keokuk — Restaurant in Keokuk

I am a local and have eaten previously, and usually the food is amazing! I ordered carry out and they soecificed being there before 8:30 close time. I called at 8:03. I arrived at 8:23 and my food was all packaged and ready to go. I have to ask for a fork because they didn’t provide me with one. I open my bag and the yum yum i ordered and paid for isn’t in there, and the grilled onions i ordered aren’t cut up and in large chucks and barely above room temperature. Additionally my sushi roll I ordered is room temperature and tasteless. I have received these exact items on multiple occasions and never had problems. This place went down hill fast! The past 2 orders of ours have been ridiculously bad.We started ordering weekly, when they first opened and we were in LOVE! The food was so delicious!First bad experience, no veggies on our hibachi and chicken to hard to chew. Found some plastic wrapper in one of the crab Rangoon, thick with red writing ,cooked into the food.Thinking anyone can have an off day,we gave it another try. Today our rice was plain, mostly white ,with no flavor. The steak had to be trashed, tough and could not eat it.The Arkansas roll was awful, tasted weird. I was surprised how much I liked this place. To be honest, I went here after being told the local restaurant named "Hawkeye" had a waitlist and I figured this was a decent follow-up.

This ended up being awesome. I enjoyed every sushi roll I ordered here (The Arkansas and Keokuk FD), and the chicken/ steak hibachi was excellent quality as well. The meat was tender without being too soft, so we were very happy.

This place is primarily to go order, even though you're eating in you still eat out of Styrofoam containers with plastic utensils or chopsticks....
