This small coffee shop is so cute. I visit Keokuk every couple of years because my family lives in the area. I've never heard of this place and i am very sad I just discovered it. We love the breakfast, it's fresh cooked and delicious. The hand crafted drinks are really good and there are plenty of options for us diabetics. I wanted to take some badged coffee home with me but I couldn't find any plain without all these crazy flavors. Snickerdoodle, hazelnut, smores.. I just want a bag of whatever they are brewing.
My only criticism is the next visit I decided to get a decaf coffee. However, I was bummed the only choices at the bar for creamer were powdered creamer or International brand liquid tubs. I asked for half and half instead and was charged extra for it. They wanted to charge me for a latte at first. I was only using 3 to 4 Tbs, no where near latte amount and certainly no espresso. I didn't want it steamed or prepped in any way, just a little real half and half in my coffee. I don't remember the price of coffee alone, but I want to say I paid about a dollar extra for the cream. The coffee is really good with real cream. I've never had a coffee place charge me for creamer.
Other than that incident I love the atmosphere and the employees are friendly...

Nice, bright and clean inside but very noisy, all hard surfaces. Acoustic ceilings would help. I would give higher rating in it weren't so noisy.
Order and pay at the counter and they bring food to your table. They weren't busy when we visited and food was served without undue delay.
Trendy menu including hamburgers but burgers were not available when we visited. My impression is an urban coffee shop, not a typical Midwestern restaurant or lunch counter and somewhat pricey as well.
Food acceptable but not outstanding.
Staff are courteous, helpful and friendly.
No WiFi connection is available.
Restrooms are clean and accessible to handicapped people.
Cash, credit and debit cards accepted.
The two designed parking spaces intended for handicapped people were not adequately marked and were occupied by vehicles that did not display handicapped parking permits.
Other available parking was limited to a more distant sloping location with a crushed...
Read moreI love what you guys are doing. Keep it up. The community needs something like this. However I will say, that was far from the world's greatest grilled cheese as promised. The cheese was not melted. It was more like a BLT on toasted bread. Still good just not the 'world's best' grilled cheese. But this is far from a complaint! I mean, where else in Keokuk can you find something to eat on a monday??? You guys are my freaking Heroes just for being open on a Monday!!! My whole gang could have gone hungry that day if not for you guys. Plus, every single individual working at this establishment is upbeat, happy, engaging, and concerned with the satisfaction of their customers. The environment is clean, trendy, spacious and friendly. The quiche is good! I have at least one neighbor who visits...
