Christine's Blues & Barbeque — Restaurant in Kermit

I'd like to preface this review by saying that Christine is an absolute sweetheart. She was very polite and funny and we enjoyed sharing a few laughs with her while we were ordering food.

The food was served lukewarm/cold and the portions were rather small - we paid $20+ for a few small pieces of chopped brisket, one chicken leg, and one rib along with small portions of sides. One could easily tell the food was not cooked freshly and the attempt a reheating it didn't quite do the job. Water also cost $4.00 which felt absurd for a bottle from the local grocery store where an entire pack costs...

Unique in that they season their meat without making it salty, which is huge accomplishment. I had the ribs & sliced brisket, both were tasty. They don't have a lean option for the brisket, but the fat content was tolerable. Customer service was on point in every way possible. Atmosphere is what you might expect in some of the best BBQ joints in Detroit, Chicago or Atlanta, down home feel, classical (R&B, Soft Rock) music playing along with great vibes. Decided to try Christine’s BBQ on a whim and was not disappointed. The moment you walk in the door the owners make you feel like family. Very welcoming and hospitable. Just what you’d expect from a Southern Family Owned Establishment! Before I left they’d asked if I wanted some Peach Cobbler after I’d already paid for my food. I pulled out my wallet again to pay for it and the owner puts his hand up and says “we’ll get you next time.” You won’t get that anywhere else....
