No one expects a local donut shop to be cavernous, but even by that standard, Intown Donutz is small. Despite the presence of a few tables, youâre best served grabbing your donuts and fleeing before limited standing room causes a pileup of people behind you. This lack of an inviting atmosphere was abetted by the lone employee on duty who, while not exactly rude, seemed like she would rather be anywhere else.
So why come here? The donuts, man. They are varied, and they are good. Intown offers everything from cake-style and old-fashioned to glazed to fritters and bear claws and more. They will even fill-to-order (jelly, custard, lemon, or cream) their long donuts. Everything was billed as made fresh daily and looked the part.
I picked up a large caffe mocha, a custard-filled maple glazed stick, a jelly-filled glazed stick, and an apple fritter for under $10 to share, and there wasnât a bad decision in the bunch. The apple fritter especially was one of the best that Iâve had in quite some time.
Moral of the story: come for the donuts and leave quickly before the (lack of) service and space sour you...
Read moreDonuts of great taste and size! This place is bursting at the seems with donuts of varying flavor, texture and shape. They have the typical donuts, donut holes, long John style including a maple bacon one, bear claws, and more! Fluffy and reminds me a lot of the other donut shop in Reidsville NC, but after asking I found they are unrelated. No seating in here and there can be a line so be prepared to wait, but totally worth it. Would definitely get the apple fritters, they are super Crunchy and packed with flavor. This place also does custom coffee, smoothies and Boba! The Boba tea I had was the honey dew and it tasted so good. Really you could go here just for the great drinks. Wife said her frozen mocha coffee was her favorite coffee she's had at any place since moving here. They have other drinks you can buy like water, juice and soda in a refrigerated door if you want. No seating outside either. Parking lot can be packed, that does not mean it's for the donut shop and it is wheelchair accessible. Hope you enjoy the place as much as...
Read moreI'm giving the place a 4/5 stars. The donuts are tasty. However, the customer service can be better. It's a small shop in Kernersville operated by one person for most of the day. The cashier makes friendly conversation with all of the customers but this delays the speed of the transaction. There have been several times where I was in line for longer than needed because I was waiting for the cashier to finish a very long winded conversation with another customer. The length of the line doesn't stop the cashier from talking as long too. Today she was talking about a rash on her arm, which isn't the best conversation to have aloud in a food service store. If you're okay with waiting longer than needed and being a few minutes late to you destination then it's worth it. As stated before, the donuts...
