This place was really cool and the staff are genuine surfer/skater dudes who were super friendly! This was our first time so I’m not sure of the backstory, but it seems like the owners may have opened the shop in honor of their mom, which was super cool and unexpected. Merchandise was awesome and unique and the shop is decorated perfectly. The truffles, chocolate shake, and acai bowl were really amazing too! Definitely a must-see if you’re in the area! Edit: the shop is named after the original “Mom’s Sweet Shoppe” that one of the owners grew up frequenting as a kid. As the website says, the atmosphere is young and fresh, yet nostalgic and comfortable — designed to make it feel like home!

This place has the most amazing artisan ice cream in the outer banks. This place has the most amazing artisan ice cream in the outer banks. We have been to tourist spots in the past and they do not compare to the ice cream here. My husband got the banana pudding milkshake and it was so good. My son and I split the banana split and that was delicious to. The cake milkshake was also delicious. Our family loves to come to the outer banks and this is one of our new spots. First off the staff is amazing, so kind, so lovely and made me feel so welcome the moment I walked up to the counter. I needed that today. Secondly, BEST MILKSHAKE I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE. I know, I know, I was just raving about another shake I had a week ago, but this one made me want to cry tears of joy it was so lush. I would cheat on that other shake with this one (and I did). The place is super clean, so cute inside, and again SHAKES ARE TO DIE FOR. Like this would be on my last meal request. Now I just have to see how many shakes I can have for the remainder of time here. Just go, go now!

LOVE LOVE Moms Sweet Shop! I've been shopping here since opening day and every year they grow and add new and exciting merchandise and options. Derik and Jess (owners of Mom's) have originality and spunk which is so apparent in their store design and curated collection of merchandise. The clothing style is very on trend and offers a great selection of sizes. Love their vintage apparel section too which Jess and Derik hand source from all over!! The "sweet shop" side is the best on the beach. I go for smoothies and the husband gets milkshakes but they have any kinda of sweet to satisfy a craving. I always pick up awesome gifts for friends like soaps, chocolates and jewelry. If your into vintage records Mom's has the best selection around. They really do have it all +...

One of the best places in all of the Outer Banks! The ice cream is absolutely amazing. We got the kiss and the dirty bertie. The kiss was incredibly refreshing and the strawberry puree tasted fresh. The dirty bertie was exactly what the chocolate lover wanted.

The best part of Mom's Sweet Shop? The employees! Everyone was beyond nice. I asked one employee if they had any more sizes of a shirt I wanted in stock. She checked the inventory, went outside, looked around, and was super amazing about helping me! She was so nice to interact with and so were those making the ice cream.
