Just tried this place out! I have a lot to say lol. I'm not picky about anything when it comes to restaurants so I'm just doing my best to describe how it was. I'd recommend trying this place out for yourself!
The food: The spicy pork cupbop was delicious. If you're looking for something truly spicyâ this isn't it. The flavor and texture of the pork was incredible though. It was served with a heap of rice that had an amazing texture. My boyfriend enjoyed it very much. I ordered the chicken ramen, which was very standard. The noodles were a great texture (slight chew, not soggy or overcooked) and the broth was light. It had crunchy bean sprouts, green onion, and cubes of white meat chicken. I was a little disappointed by it, but that's mostly because I was comparing it to my all time favorite chicken ramen from a place called Toro Ramen. Ramen isn't Cupbop's specialty- bibimbap is. So for my rating it doesn't affect much since it isn't one of their selling points in the first place. There was nothing wrong with it but it didn't wow me. Lastly, the sushi was delicious! We tried the Cherry Blossom roll as we had never had a roll with asparagus or honey mustard, and were curious to try something new. I was hesitant at first, but the taste blew me away. The portion was very generous. The rolls were sliced into perfect mouthfuls- not too much or too little. It tasted fresh, light, and flavorful. A touch of soy sauce really brought it up a level too.
The staff: Very kind, attentive, and fast at serving and cleaning. They bring the food to your table if you dine in, and wear their mask as they do so. Not too much to say otherwise but they were great.
The place: Clean interior, minimal yet tasteful decor, it was a fairly quiet place to enjoy the food. It is a modest interior, but it is hard to say how much the pandemic restrictions affect that aspect (plastic cutlery, the tables are cleared entirely so you have to get your own dinnerware, napkins, soy sauce, etc if you want or need it). I imagine this helps maintain a cleaner and safer space for diners. I don't mind personally but if you want fancy, don't...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars I would. First, the girl working the register would rather play on her phone than be courteous to their customers. Felt like she was irritated that she had to take our order. When asked questions about the menu, she would say itâs on the menu and point rather than explain a little. We ordered two sushi rolls, a sea weed salad and a chicken Bento box with two drinks. Quite a lot for a lunch ticket $45.00. When we paid, she didnt tell us where the cups were and got back on her phone. I asked where the cups were and she pointed and got back on her phone. I grab the cups and they felt greasy and sticky. We ended up getting to go cups because it was nasty. We wanted to get sweet tea but it was empty so I asked if there was more she could make. She acted like she didnât know and asked the cook who put up an X sign with his hands and said we are out. Ok no big deal. We will get a soda. The seaweed salad comes out and like the cups, the bowl was sticky. At this point, my wife wanted to get our $ back and walk out. I said no, letâs see what the food is like. I then get my bento box. I shouldâve taken my wifeâs info and we left. The grilled chicken was so dry that I didnât even eat it. The side salad was literally a cut up iceberg lettuce smothered in dressing. Nothing else in it. Rice was edible. The sushi was pretty good that came with the box. The two rolls that came after were actually pretty good. Had no complaints there. All in all, I wouldnât recommend this...
Read moreI will say the food I got was tasty but the process it took to order was not the best experience. Upon entering the establishment there was no greeting which wasn't really an issue because "maybe they were busy" I said to myself. I already knew what I wanted to order and the gentleman at the cash somewhat next to the cash register was just standing there, pretty much having a starring contest for a few minutes before walking to the cash wrap and even then he said nothing no greeting just starring. I brushed it off and just started saying what I wanted to order. I paid he gave me my receipt and that was that. I wasn't sure how long the food would take so I went to my car for about 20 minutes. When I reentered the establishment, there was a gentleman (the only customer there) sitting down, and the workers were just behind the counter and only one of them was actually engaged making food. I assumed he'd been helped but after waiting 5 minute's (I thought someone would come to the front once someone comes inside) and had to yell excuse me a few times before the gentleman who was on the cash register came. I asked if my food was ready to which he asked for my receipt and grabbed the food. The customer who'd been waiting mentioned that he hadn't been helped and would like to order.
Long story short, order online first before going as their customer...
