We’ve driven by Masfajitas in Killeen numerous times and today, we finally stopped to give it a try for lunch on Wednesday. We got there around 11:30 am and were the first ones in the door. By the time we left, the place was busy, but there was still no waiting for a seat. From the moment we walked through the door, the staff was friendly and smiling. Our server, Crissy, was friendly and attentive.
Chips and salsa appeared at the table as soon as we sat down. The chips are thin and crisp and were even warm when we got them. The salsa was very good, flavorful with just the right amount of spice. They brought two small dishes of salsa for the two of us, and we still asked for more! For our meals, we got the Carne Asada and Cheesy Beef Burrito. They do have a lunch menu with a nice variety, but we ordered off the regular menu. Bottom line, the food is very good. The burrito was stuffed with Fajita beef, onions, peppers, pico de gallo and Monterrey cheese and comes with a side of Queso Blanco. It also comes with a side of rice and beans. I loved the burrito and will get it again…. of course, there are a lot of other items on the menu that I want to try! My wife really liked the Carne Asada plate. It was a good portion of meat with a side of rice and beans. Even though the meat is good by itself, the plate also comes with flour tortillas and all the fixings to wrap it up. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the refried beans are great. There is nothing negative that I can say about the meal!
If you are craving Mexican food and are in Killeen, give Masfajitas a try. Based on our experience, you will not be disappointed. This is much better than the flashy Mexican food chain restaurants in the area. We can’t...
Read moreTook a long time for someone to notice we had not gotten drink orders taken. The Dr pepper tastes like it is mixed with root beer (so gross). Overall the Food was meh. Good tortillas, good salsa, good guacamole, & delicious, tender, chicken fajitas. Rice was so-so (some bites were pretty good, the others were crunchy and burnt). "Fried" ice cream is just a ball of Ice cream rolled in frosted flakes, there is no brandy butter sauce (we asked, she said it is on there - but it was NOT). Ordered 2 and it was a total waste of money. Dont think I will go back, we tipped 50% only because we know how hard it is to be waitstaff, but honestly the service was so slow and several of our items were forgotten and my husband finished his drink before we got our food, and she never got him a refill (he ended up drinking mine). Service was not slow for just us. When we got there, two tables were finished eating with take out boxes already bagged up ready to go and credit cards in hand to pay. It was 15 minutes before one table was able to pay and leave and more then 20 minutes before the other table paid and left. Not impressed. Now I will say that we got there about 45 minutes before they closed, so maybe the end of the long night played a part in our personal experience (as far as service and taste of food goes) maybe we just went on an 'off' day. No, we did not complain to anyone about anything. The owner or manager was friendly and welcoming. He checked on us after a little while and he personally took our...
Read moreI want to first say I apologize for accidentally hitting the thumbs down. I always have the best experience at Mas Fajitas in Killeen. The staff is so different because they truly connect with me every time I go there. I’m probably showing my age when I say this but it feels kinda like the show Cheers where everybody knows your name. It’s got such a local feel with the high quality of a national brand. Today I went into Mas Fajitas in Killeen with my heart set on a margarita. They literally have the best margaritas in Killeen. I always order the top shelf margarita on the rocks with salt and lime. It’s the perfect blend. We all know that Texans judge a Mexican Restaurant by their salsa and Mas Fajitas has the best salsa in town. It’s just the right spice and consistency. My favorite meal is the Fajitas. You can taste the love and authentic scratch kitchen flavor. The portions and the price is also very fair. I love bringing my family with me to have a great place to eat good food and create lasting memories but it’s also great for a fun and carefree date night in Killeen.
Again I apologize for the thumbs down. Cookie at the bar is stellar with a ton of personality. If you’re new to Fort Cavazos or Killeen you should definitely put MAs Fajitas down as one of the best places to...
