The first survey of the new year! Welcome to 2025 where a business still will take your money but won’t make your food order. I had the pleasure of visiting this interesting restaurant and it wasn’t a pleasant visit. I felt extremely uncomfortable as well as conflicted. I pulled up to park went to the door to open it and it was locked. But I saw people inside moving around and socializing. The OPEN sign was on the door and the lights were on. NOBODY came to the door they looked at me like I was a park of the taliban. I am 100% disabled the most damage I would do to anything is fall over that dirty mop water they were tossing outside the front of the restaurant. Totally unsanitary and I am pretty sure you’re not supposed to toss water in front of the restaurants. So I waited patiently and I called the number three times to the restaurant the phone number did not work. So, I googled and found another number and still nobody answers the phone. That’s strike two now strike three is when some lady came outside to ask me if I was waiting on someone. No hey or hello I see you’ve been parked out front of our restaurant for a while is there anything we can do to assist you. NAH that was too much for her I could tell by her posture and demeanor she did NOT intimate me but it was funny in my sarcastic tone. Let’s take notes and a record of this situation so maybe the owner will get the BIGGGGG picture! WE….hold on let me say that again WE are ALL consumers. I am no different than the people who run the establishment. I am a human being with feelings and emotions. A word of advice no matter how old you are or what your title maybe WE are ALLLLL consumers. When a paying customer places an order and your hours of operation reflect your closing time is 10pm CST that is what customers expect. How would you feel if you placed an order with your distributor for chicken and you received spoiled outdated chicken! Keep taking note. I arrived way before closing time. If your closed your establishment should NOT be accepting orders. Commons courtesy works both ways. Please don’t ever tell someone you ran out of food that is a complete LIE my bad it was a fabricated story. The tone of your voice was inappropriate for someone who’s just sitting in a FREEE PUBLIC parking lot. I do not have to move it is NOT your property the parking lot is public domain if you don’t know call and ask the city. I would NOT ever recommend This restaurant to anyone not even a blind animal. You are very rude and disrespectful to people who just want to enjoy the food that you don’t have as you mentioned you ran out of food! The worse part of it all she did not even apologize you could tell by her posture she is a rude disrespectful person and she only cares about herself. Trust me when I say you will reap what you sow. If it was in my power I would submit to put you out of business this was by far the worst experience I have had in a so called black owned establishment. I support everyone no matter who you are because I know we are ALL consumers. You only get one chance with me and this one was an epic fail. In the future I do hope you do better. Totally disappointed and completely sadden about this first visit. #SorryNOTSorry...
Read moreThis is not the review I expected to give as I was really looking forward to supporting this black owned restaurant and doing business with them. However, that did not happen due to the lack of customer service I received. I reached out to this business on last Tuesday, February 6th, in hopes of securing a date for a wing order of 80 for an event early March. The first time I called the restaurant, I was told that the owner was not there which is understandable. The next day, I was able to get ahold of the owner Ms. Tillie. I told her exactly what I was wanting to order, the date I needed the order of wings and was quoted a price. She even agreed on delivery service. The only thing that was pending was the flavors of the wings and that was explained to the owner that I needed to confirm with the person that the event was for. I was clear that I would be calling back by COB that day or the next day. The very next day, I attempted to reach Ms. Tillie to finalize my order and secure payment... The owner was not available. I made contact every day for a week to finalize order and WAS NOT able to do so. I left my name and number with the person who answered the phone on three separate occasions. I never received a return call. I even asked what is a good time to call so I could speak with her or whoever else was in charge. On Tuesday, February 13th, (after calling for a whole week) I was told by the caller that Ms. Tillie was still not in but I could speak with someone else. I waited on hold for 10+ just to be told that they were extremely busy and asked if they could call me back. I never received a call as I was told. Today, Wednesday, February 14th, I made my last and final attempt to do reach the business and my call would not go through.
I'm very disappointed in how business (or lack there of) was conducted. The worker who answered the phone needs a training or two on phone etiquette as well. I suggest Ms. Tillie hire someone to handle all catering orders in the future. This is no way to run a...
Read moreI finally had a chance to check out Tillie Marie's! Arriving there was tough for me Hallmark is a tough street to maneuver for someone out of town. Once there I honestly have to say that I was not impressed with the area or the building but inside felt like a family reunion! There was a signature wall, an area to take photos, one table had Jinga, and the other had Dominoes. I of course chose the Dominoe table. I sat and I waited... I did not know that you had to put your order in. I expected someone to come to the table. That was fine though. Once at the counter I was greeted by a young man who showed me the menu and the corresponding pictures. I ordered the salad with chicken and shrimp that you see in my review. I could tell they were short-handed as many restaurants are in this post pandemic world, so I didn't mind when the young man stated that the order would take 30 minutes. The food was amazing!!! Everything was fresh and I felt like a little child looking at the presentation. My momma used to take such care in fixing and presenting our meals and it had a mother's touch to it. My daughter's had burgers and fries, my wife, and parents had their own salads as well. We loved the food! My only negative were the lack of access to a bathroom. I came from out of town and really needed to use the bathroom. But once I found out that none of the locations around the restaurant allowed bathroom usage I understood. Don't let the are, or lack of bathrooms stop you though! This food is delicious and FRESH! My recommendation would be to call ahead and get it to go but this place is a...
