I am floored!! I have ordered many times from this Papa John's over the years, and the thing is, I used to work for Domino's as a delivery driver. I prefer Papa John's pizzas over Domino's, but not in the last year or so. I have given the store multiple chances over the last several months, hoping that it would be great again, only to have the worst experience today. I made my order, paid the tip to the driver on my credit card, only to have Doordash deliver it. Apparently, they used doordash to deliver the orders when they are short on drivers. The pizzas were cold, they were not in a hot bag at all, which is normally what pizza establishments use to keep your food hot on the way to the house. The Doordash driver took the stuff straight off his front seat and our food was cold, and barely any meats or vegetables on either pizza. I asked the Doordash driver why the food was not kept in a bag, and he "conveniently" could not speak English. So, I called Papa John's and spoke to the manager. Now, I know how hard it is to keep up with orders in a pizza establishment, because I used to work the inside as well as deliver pizza, so I did not get angry on the phone at all. I let him know that I was not happy with my order, and that this is not the first time that my food has came to me cold and barely any toppings, but has now happened multiple times. I also explained to him that the food I ordered tonight had not been kept hot at all on the way to my house. And I calmly let him know that I would not be ordering from his store anymore because of all of this. Instead of addressing the issue, and apologizing to me, which is what I would have done if I had been the one on the other end of that phone, he hung up on me!!! Literally, didn't say one word, and just hung up the phone hard. I have had to deal with customers myself that had issues with their orders, because I worked for Domino's on and off for years, and I never hung up on a customer unless they were very very rude to me. I was not rude to this gentleman, and I never raised my voice once, but I will never get anything from their...
Read moreI just ordered a pizza and it took over an hour to deliver. It wasn't the pizza I ordered and it was cold. I called the place and the guy that picked up the phone just said hello; I explained the situation and then I only heard him doing his stuffs in the background until I had to hang up. I called a second time and the store manager picked up the phone. I explained what happened with the first guy and then explained the pizza situation that was delivered late, cold, and wasn't the right pizza I ordered. He didn't even care to show empathy & his first question was "what's the name on the order?" I told him to hold on to get the right name from the Papa John's app I ordered it from because I changed the name all the times when I order for friends & family. Next thing I know he hung up on me. Everybody can tell when a call is disconnected as opposed to when you're being hung up on. I called again and another guy picked up the phone, I asked to speak to him again, the manager. My first question to him was "why did you hang up the phone on me? His answer was "the call got disconnected what's up?" Wow! No apologies, no nothing and then "what's up?" Then I had to re-explain myself to him although he knew he just talked to me a couple of minutes ago. That's when he offered to send me another pizza. Anyway, I just wanted to state the fact as it happened so that people reading this can make their...
Read moreAs far as a Papa Johns goes they are as good as you can expect. Their product is consistent and in the 5 or so times I have ordered from here they have never made a mistake. For a general pizza joint there are certainly better pies to be had out there but they make a decent product. They also seem to make it pretty quickly and I did like that the location has a pick up window.
There is a few reason I would give this 4 stars and not 5. I do feel like the price point is a tad bit high for the product compared to what's available locally. I also dislike how this company has been pushing more fees into orders. Now when you ask for red pepper they sell you a small container instead of giving you free packets and they charge for delivery but also don't pay their drivers much so you are forced to tip on top of paying for the deliver? That is not cool in my book. Either charge me or expect me to tip but doing both is greedy.
Granted these issues are likely the fault of the corporation being greedy and not the individual location but its still...
