I am still in a little shocked by my experience at this restaurant but let me explain why I gave it three stars. I so initially wanted to give it 5 stars but here is where it went wrong... the restaurants decor is pretty interesting it's kind of a Mexican meets hipster type of deal it was pretty cool. I came to eat by myself and the restaurant wasn't that full but for some reason it took about 5 minutes before someone noticed me standing at the door before I got seated, but that's cool I didn't trip. So one of the greeters brought me my chips and salsa and I have to say that it took about 10 to 15 minutes before someone came to take my order but then again I didn't trip I came there to have a good time. My waitress was pretty friendly and even help me decide on a good margarita I chose the Cadillac Margarita which was pretty damn good and I also had a shot of tequila. I ordered there chorizo and queso dip which kind of took forever to come out but when it did it was awesome. I also ordered the burrito Deluxe which took a while to come out but then again it was good too. Now the food and decor were outstanding I can see how this is really a great local spot and I totally agree. I would actually come here again because the food was so good. The problem is that no one came to check on me from appetizer to the end of my meal. Herein lies the problem I really don't take any fault with my server except that they could have done a little better job to come around and check to see if I needed anything. The problem lies and the fact that you have a restaurant that eventually became full from my count of almost 75 people in the whole restaurant and you only have 2 servers covering all those tables and on top of that those two servers are also functioning as the bartenders!!!!!! From a managerial standpoint this is where they drop the ball I take issue with the management. The staff can only do the best they can with what they have. It's a bit shameful for the management to do this to their employees because at the end of the day when people are waiting 15-20 minutes to start their service people take it out on the wait staff not the management which is kind of unfair so I give a big thumbs up for my two servers but the managers really need to get their act together and provide the use great Waiters with more help. On that note if you're ever in town I would definitely recommend this restaurant because the food is great.
UPDATE!!!! Went back today, and it was the bomb. Everything fell in to place and had a great experience....
Read moreNo stars from the minute we walked in, we weren't greeted like the caucasian guest!!! If you are caucasian you are welcome there, for their own people let's forget about it. ok I like to give people a chance so I compliment the restaurants outlook with all the beautiful day of the dead decorations. No response. we moved to a table after we were seated the host walked away and took 10 minutes before coming back to see of we were going to order. First off, it was my first visit there because I wanted to eat seafood. Second I noticed our drinks were taken with attitude by a young man he was not really paying attention to what we wanted to drink. At last the host from the beginning comes to take our order after 15 minutes. Evertime I'm at a "Mexican restaurant " I always order in Spanish, I started to place the order for my daughters and she liked at me Like she didn't understand that when I asked sorry do you speak Spanish, because I noticed she was taking the orders but not replying or asking us anything. So the orders where made and my daughters said to me mom!Since we walked in everyone was looking at us and they said they felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed. So once I was able to get a hold of the host I asked her to cancel the order and to bring e the bill as we weren't going to dining there. She had so much attitude from the beginning I can't believe I didn't walk out before we were even seated. Also i have to say I had to make eye contact with what seem to be the owner tha was standing there and he was the one that brought the young lady out to take our order. As to my experience in dining out, I always want to feel welcomed and of course gret tasting food. By the way it wouldn't allow me to post until clicked on a star, but I wouldnt have giving it a single one if it wasn't that I wanted people to know this place is very...
Read moreThis restaurant is not friendly to any diets that are outside of the “norm”. If you have dietary restrictions I would not recommend. I am leaving this review less to bash the establishment and more as a caution to other travelers so they don’t make the $30 mistake we did….
We are vegetarians and traveling through the area with limited options. Typically Mexican is “safe” because even if it’s limited there are still one or two options. Literally NOTHING on the menu we can eat. Even rice and beans have meat (the beans have chorizo so if you don’t eat pork for religious reasons that’s a separate issue). We ordered a beer and a margarita. Chips/salsa were brought without us asking for them. The margarita was syrupy and I couldn’t taste tequila at all. We sat for a long time without service. When the server did check in we asked about anything for vegetarians. He was super kind and well informed of the menu to be able to tell us that there wasn’t anything for us. We initially ordered a cheese dip and asked to cancel that and pay for our drinks and go. This took a very long time. When we did finally get the bill we saw that my very syrupy and tequila-less margarita was $14 and that they charged us $5.50 for chips and salsa that we didn’t ask for and barely nibbled on… needless to say we are disappointed
On the bright side- the staff was very friendly and the general ambiance is nice...
