We've had many different experiences here since they opened about 12 years ago. A few days ago 7/22/19 my son and I stopped in for late breakfast. We were seated quickly and our server, Faith, came in a timely manner and brought our water, then took our orders. We waited about 10 minutes, with me finishing my water and never seeing the server near our table. During this time, a couple came in and was seated behind us. Another server took their order immediately, then as she was leaving with their order, she asked if I needed more water. She brought it and we still did not see our server (my son said she was standing in the back talking to someone she either knew or was helping). Time passed 20- 25 minutes since we placed our order, still never seeing our server near our table, then the couple that was seated behind us, that came in at least 10 minutes after us, received their breakfast. As their server was leaving their table, I flagged her down (because we had never seen Faith again since sitting down and ordering; she was the only contact we had) and quietly told her that I was not pleased that the couple sitting behind us, that came in well after us, was already served. She looked at me in mock horror widening her eyes at me and said "I'm sorry, ma'am! I have no idea how this happened! I have no idea! I have no idea how this happened with a couple that came in 5 minutes after you!" I felt her response was completely inappropriate! We only had regular breakfasts with pancakes. This should not have taken almost 30 minutes in a restaurant that only had 5 tables occupied. The crowning experience is that our order arrived as the couple behind us, that came in well after us, were receiving their bill to leave. This delivery of our food was the second time we had seen our server since we sat down. She was pleasant enough but not available. I was so perturbed at the whole situation that I just wanted to ask for a box to put my breakfast in so that we could leave. I still couldn't find our server so I had to raise my voice to get the other server's attention to ask for a box. Ridiculous to try to get someone's attention, especially when they know you already might not be happy. I went to the register to check out and the server, Faith, was there; I paid and left no tip. For the record let me say that I've always been a HUGE fan of IHOP, searching them out in cities before getting one here. Customer service lacks here sometimes. Greet people when they walk in the door. If you can't seat them immediately, let them know you'll be with them in a minute; don't leave them wondering if you've even seen them. Don't disappear from the table after ordering. Obviously, ensure the guests have water consistently. And please let the guests know if there's a delay in their order. A simple return to the table and "I heard you had a question about your order ..... it will be up soon" would have gone a long way. I am consistently a 20% tipper for regular service. The attitude of the server that was not ours was not called for. We are the customers; we WANT to enjoy your product and your service! P.S. I am sadly disappointed in myself for not obtainING pictures of the best breakfast I've had in a restaurant. - I was too busy stuffing my face with a PERFECTLY prepared meal. Whoever they had cooking in the kitchen on 23 DEC 2022, at 11am, is a culinary master.
I submitted the following via corporate feedback. You cannot pull off the experience we had w/out some serious players. These are pro's, make absolutely no mistake about it:
Good service, is good; And, Great service is great...
But, EXEMPLARY service from the entire restaurant team demands recognition!
Our server was not just obviously experienced. She was a 'seasoned professional'. It's always a joy to see anyone at the TOP OF THEIR GAME, and she nailed it. We never needed anything. Perfectly polite, and friendly, but not over the top, or excessive. She's the one you want to take notes on, and have train others.
The kitchen staff: The restaurant was fairly full, and therefore kitchen staff had to have been working at capacity. YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN - Our food was 10/10. It showed up quickly, hot, and perfectly prepared, precisely as we had ordered. The quality of the food (not just preparation), was what you would submit to a competition. Orange juice (no shocker, it was the best we have had).
My wife and I agreed; This was the best breakfast we have had in a restaurant, ever.
The entire staff that we experienced, were polite, and represented the IHOP name with pride. We most certainly will be back. And we will most certainly tell others. - For this, you can salute our server, and whoever prepared our meal. Both 100% NAILED IT!

Read moreVisited yesterday with my boyfriend and decided to instead take the food we just ordered to go (which hadn’t been served to us yet) I told the waitress Bre which then look baffled and went in the kitchen telling them we wanted it to go. We got up to meet her at the front desk and was able to see inside the kitchen. The manager who was actually cooking and her were having a conversation about us switching from dine it to take out. When he asked why’d they do that she proceeded to whisper and make mocking hand gesture . She than turned around and seen us and turned red from embarrassment I’d suppose so as I grab my food I say I guess I’m glad you were whispering about us so I couldn’t here. In the beginning she completely denied it and I said I’m not slow I’m literally watching she then proceeded to make the watery grits we added on regretfully and says sorry in the end. I said don’t be sorry watch what you say about people In general.
When I got home I then discovered I only received 2 meals when I ordered 3 and the grits weren’t mixed well so water sat at the top and clumps at the I called and asked to speak with Dave, the manager who sat and mocked us with the waiter bre and told him the situation in full just like this . He then defended himself and her saying they didn’t say anything. At that point I cut him off because I simply just wanted my refund I want coming back up there to get my food spat in from the nasty attitude employees there.
I come often! So I was completely blindsided by the atmosphere and emotions there that evening. I expected management to simply solve the issues but instead indulged in it.
