Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Kingsland

I decided to go get the family some chicken for dinner, after reading reviews for the local KFC I decided to go to Popeye's and get a family meal. When I walked in I should have known to leave due to the fact my shoes were sticking to the floor, but against my better judgement I stayed. I go up to the counter and there is a lady with an apron on and she looks at me and say what can I get for you (no smile) I stated that I wanted a 16 piece family meal, she didn't say a word just turned around and started getting the chicken from the hotplate, she did yell to someone in the back "16 piece" .. The next thing she said was "what sides"? I asked, what are my options? and without saying a word she pointed up at the sign. So after I decided on which of the few choices offered that I wanted she bagged those up.. Out of nowhere some other lady came up to the register and restated my order as she put it in the register, at this time I added 5 chicken tenders. Oh the second lady was extremely friendly... When I got home we all set down to eat and this was where my dream of some good fried chicken went down the drain. The crust of the chicken tasted very good however the inside tasted like it was cooked in two week old oil, the biscuits also seemed to have been cooked at lunch and this was about 5 p.m. Next was the slaw, I don't know if its an ingredient that they use and I just didn't like it or if it was spoiled either way it tasted horrible. The tenders I ordered were for my son who is 16 years old and he said they were okay nothing great and would have been better had he had something to dip them in, however since nothing was offered I didn't remember to ask for dipping sauce. At one point about 8 years ago I was a manager of a Churches chicken that's how I know what I would expect of any chicken that I sold to someone and this was not it. KFC here has horrible reviews and I have never eaten there but I will go there before I ever go back to Popeye's again. Horrible,...

We stopped here for a quick bite on our way back home from vacation. While we waited for our order to be packed we tried dispensing ice from the soda machine. There was no ice. We went to the counter to ask for ice and were told by whom I believe was the manager (older woman with short hair that had a grey shirt on unlike the young lady who took our order - I think she had a red shirt on) that they had no ice, they ran out of it. Hmmm. I worked in the fast food industry many years ago and remember that one essential machine, the ice machine. So we walked away and added water to the way too sweet lemonade. We ordered two 3 piece chicken tender meals, one mild and one spicy and a chicken sandwich. We didn't check our order until after we left Popeye's. We were in the parked car, facing the restaurant, checking our order. The sandwich had a very small piece of chicken on it that didn't even cover the bun. We received two 5 piece chicken tender meals both mild. As we sat there, we saw a young man stand on a step ladder and pour two buckets of ice into the soda machine. I will not return to this place. I don't like being lied to. I didn't return the meals because I never return an incorrect order and I didn't realize how many tenders there were until after I ate the third tender. I give a star for the food always being good. The service is horrible. Never do I have this issue at other Popeyes. Every visit here takes around 20mins or longer. Today I order 1 chicken tender meal. Several people kept getting their food after I ordered. I'm on the phone with my fiancee so I'm thinking it's taking time for fresh chicken since I nu ordered spicy. The whole time just like every other visit, the employees are standing around cutting jokes and gossiping. And yes everyone in the whole restaurant can hear them fooling around. Finally after 35mins I interupt them asking what's up with my food. It was one meal that was before the majority of the customers in the restarauant that was already eating. They apologize and make the order. Sit down and the order wasn't even right. Every visit has been the give them one more chance visit. It's been a long time since my last time there and nothing's improved. It's a shame that there's no work ethic there. Just a place...
