It's Waffle House, a staple of the south. Awful waffle is not awful at all, having moved away from their service area I was excited to relive the past dining experiences I and my family have had.
Be sure to bring a jacket if you don't like the cold. Beer caves have nothing on Waffle House. Perpetually cold the diner can be daunting if you get cold easily. But don't worry the hot food will warm you back up. Watch the cooks prepare the food on the grill and enjoy a cup of coffee.
The food is pretty much the same as I remember, which is good for the money. The downside is they no longer have pie. That delicious pecan pie that you could have warmed up on the grill is missing from the menu. Also the dirt cheap hamburgers have gone away. But don't dismay, the classics are still around. Waffles are still good, the hash browns still can be covered and smothered. The new burgers are good, just not cheap like they used to be, but they aren't as small either.
Open 24/7 you can count on warm food anytime you need it. If they are closed you can bet that there is a hurricane bad enough that you should have left town. More reliable than the USPS, Waffle House delivers food in all but the...
Read moreVery disappointed. Server had a problem taking our order. Son ordered hash browns with jalapenos & cheese. Came without any addition. Server took back to cook. Was returned with a pile of jalapenos and a slice of cheese. I ordered a burger with all condiments and no cheese. Server advised cook made a cheeseburger. I told her the cheeseburger would be fine. After quite a long time, she arrived with a overly greasy burger no cheese, no condiments, no pickle, no onion. She then advised the cook was very busy??? There was one other customer and he was already eating his meal??? When asked why the delay on bringing condiments she advised the chef was grilling my onions??? I did not want grilled, wanted fresh. Meanwhile my family was finished with their meal and I still was not able to eat mine. I advised server I did not want the burger and was going elsewhere. Maybe they all were new? Too many issues at this Waffle House. This was not the first time. I prefer the Waffle House located down the road at I-95 and Hwy 40 (Lee Street) in Kingsland. They seem to...
Read moreFirst of all I will say that when I walked in, there was inappropriate music playing and this is supposed to be a family-friendly place. Second, I completely understand when someone is being trained but the manager is supposed to reaffirm that and acknowledge that you are waiting to be searved. In the case of today, we waited patiently and when we finally got someone to take our order it wasn't from a server, the person was one of the cooks. When i got my food, it was nice and hot but it looked like the onions and mushrooms were cooked afterwards and thrown on top. I just ordered hashbrowns because last time my children sandwich was just the chicken in a patty. I only said that i didn't want cheese on it because I have a dairy allergy. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt and I rarely complain about it. I did notice that when i go during the nights during the early days in the week, the service is fantastic and only two people. Today was maybe 5 or 6 and i got served like i...
