Not sure how I feel about Tennessee BBQ so far. When I order brisket I expect it to be fresh out of the smoker parts of it lean with parts of it fattier. This wasn't carved fresh off of a brisket apparently it's pretty carved and refrigerated then grilled on the same grill as a hamburger to order. I had a lot of hamburger grease and beef pieces on top of the brisket ... not my thing. If I wanted a hamburger I would have ordered one. Also, I prefer just traditional french fries instead of coated ones with a bunch of salt. I will say the cowboy beans were good / interesting. I've never had baked beans that had hamburger and kidney beans in it however, hence the name cowboy baked beans. They were pretty good.
I will say the staff at this place were very friendly, kind and outgoing.
I have yet to find a barbecue restaurant in the state of Tennessee that's as good as any of the ones I've had in Florida. Don't get me wrong ... I love Tennessee more than Florida. But Tennessee has to step up its game on barbecue!
If anyone out there is in or near Eastern Tennessee and know of a great barbecue place please...
Read moreThis is a nice friendly BBQ joint. Clean is attentive and friendly. Food is prepared right in front of you if so inclined to watch. Food was prepared not fast, fast but fast enough to allow yourself to get your drink (free refills), your table and get comfy. Room (while place really) is clean, fairly open and big windows to let the sun in. Disabled and wheelchair folks should have no issues getting settled. Ordering May be a thing for some due to high counters. BUT the staff goes out of their way to make things less meh, and more yeah. So not an issue, just an FYI for wheelchairs and scooters. The "stuffed w/baby chicken or pork baked potato was delish. The BBQ chicken and pork sandwiches w/fries were also delicious. Had the pork tenderloin, was not as impressed, not bad, just not what we expected, hoping just a bad day? Overall a terrific place to eat downtown, lots of parking, nice people, good food and reasonable pricing. You will enjoy and probably be...
Read moreOvercharged my card twice in two weeks.
At first I thought it was a mistake, but with it happening twice I sense a pattern. If you've been in the last few weeks, especially for lunch on Wednesdays I would highly recommend checking your receipt against your bank account.
Jimmy, a manager, corrected both overcharges, but made odd excuses as to why it happened. Doesn't seem to me like this problem is likely to be fixed from what I heard. I was told the problem was likely a mistaken automatic tip calculation (the 18%, 21%, 25% pre calculated options). That is an extremely odd suggestion when the "tip" that was overcharged on my card was over 35%. I'm flattered he assumed I was so generous...
Thanks for fixing it I guess, but sounds like a significant personel problem to me and a manager who doesn't want to try too hard to get to the bottom of it. Not that hard to figure out who was running transactions from around noon the last...
