I decided to visit the unexpectedly charming and inviting J'aime while waiting for the ferry on my way to a professional conference. The ONLY reason for 1 star had nothing to do with the food, but rather the service experience by one of the workers today. It was not the blonde cashier who was adeptly training a friendly young woman on the register but rather the young woman cooking the crepes that needs a stark lesson in customer service and care to patrons. I spent almost $30 on just myself for some deliciously wonderful salmon crepes with a yummy coffee full of roasted goodness. The food was amazing, so I thank the young woman for that, but her personality not only resembled that of a 2x4 (flat, hard, unyielding) but hit just as hard. While waiting for my order, I received my coffee and while tipping it to sip from the straw, my lid leaked, and I watched as caramel colored coffee ran down the front of my royal blue silk blouse and onto my black slacks. I asked one of the cashiers for some napkins. The young darker haired gal who appeared to be in training by the wonderfully helpful young woman with blonde hair, happily handed me a stack of napkins while saying, "oh nooo" and smiling with a look of empathy. I did not see a trash can outside where I was standing while waiting at the delivery window, so I set the coffee filled napkins on the counter and planned to ask the nice young woman to toss them for me. Before I could ask, the rude one said, "Is this YOUR garbage?!" I explained kindly, "Oh yes, the lid leaked". "Well, we have a garbage inside the door you can use" she pursed her lips and said curtly and very rudely as she set my uncovered food order on the counter. I began collecting the dirty napkins. I needed the food to go because of the ferry and said, "Oh I'm sorry, can I get this to go?" She flippantly tossed a white paper plate over my crepes as I continued to collect the soiled napkins. I realized immediately that carrying the paper plates, my purse, my umbrella (it was sprinkling), a plastic fork and knife, a coffee, and the soiled napkins while trying to open the door to go back inside to throw them away would prove difficult, but I managed as I could tell I would be receiving no assistance from her. A man behind me said "Wow" under his breath as he witnessed this unexpected and unnecessary display of rudeness. Upon making it back inside, I could see the blonde gal attempting to discretely share with the rude one that I was obviously frustrated by what was happening only to witness the insolent one shrug her shoulders. I threw away the napkins and asked for a bag to put my food in. The rude one hurumphed under her breath and mumbled something inaudible, turning her back to me ,while the nice blonde gal smiled awkwardly, making eyes with the trainee, attempting to cover both of their embarrassment at their coworkers behavior. The trainer gave me a bag and as I put my food into it, I thanked her with a definitively pointed, "Thank YOU" and did the same for the trainee, while non-verbally using facial expressions and a head nod towards the ornery one to identify that I clearly understood what was happening, that it wasn't their fault, and that the mistreatment of me by their coworker was not on them. I have never taken the time to write this lengthy of a review but I feel that the owners of this beautiful little gem of a stop need to be made aware of my experience. If the rude one is in a supervisory position or an owner herself, well then... modeling this behavior for younger, impressionable employees is even worse than her behavior itself, not to mention acting this way to and in front of customers who are only hoping for a pleasant experience. Our party indulged in a variety of crepes, each more delicious than the last. The mushroom with cheese crepe was a savory delight, with perfectly cooked mushrooms and a generous sprinkling of cheese that didn’t overpower the flavors. The buffalo chicken crepe offered a satisfying kick of spice, complemented by tender chicken and a balance of fresh ingredients. For dessert, the dark chocolate with almonds crepe was a decadent treat, with rich chocolate and crunchy almonds that delighted our taste buds.
What stood out beyond the exquisite flavors was the portion size—each crepe was generously filled, surprising one of our party members who initially thought she had received two orders instead of one. This commitment to hearty portions ensures that every visit to J'aime Les Crêpes leaves you fully satisfied.
The staff at the crêperie were capable and courteous, ensuring a smooth dining experience from start to finish. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the overall enjoyment of our meal.

Read moreWe had about 25 minutes to wait for Ferry Boarding and needed dinner. My wife and daughter had previously eaten here at J'aime Les Crepes and raved about it. We decided that would be where we ate dinner and off we went.
It is not too far away from the Ferry Pier and sits in the street-side corner of a small building. There are two doors (one for the line to form and one for customers to leave) and very little standing room. We had 6 people in our party and felt like we crowded the small area. As your food is cooked, you can watch them make it on two hot plates in front of you. It was great. Our 10 year old watched everything.
One in our party had never eaten a crepe and thought it only for dessert. He was hesitant to eat here but thought he would give it a shot. He ordered the Smoked Salmon (about $7.50 I think) and was literally the first person finished eating.
The one crepe I would advise you avoid is the Lavender Sugar dessert crepe. We enjoy cooking with lavender and have a friend who owned a lavender farm. The Lavender Sugar had little traces of lavender and not much was put onto the crepe. It was mostly a butter flavored crepe with a hint of sugar.
Every other crepe we ordered was delicious and not too expensive. The staff were nice but were not friendly. They were not interested in waiting for order taking or small talk while cooking. Lastly, while NOT a deterrent from eating here again, it was a little awkward to watch a staff member on break eat her lunch behind the cooking area (remember how small the shop is?) but not enough to make us feel it was unclean.
We had about 25 minutes before vehicle boarding on the ferry. We had 6 people in our party and ordered 7 crepes. We were back to our vehicle with about 5-10 minutes to spare. If we had not been riding the ferry, there is a nice outdoor seating area that one could sit at and enjoy their meal. There is not a lot of seating so our party of 6 may have...
