El San Juan Mexican Restaurant. — Restaurant in Kinston

Stood in line for 20 minutes waiting to be seated at a table. Line was backed up out the door. Staff kept walking by us and never acknowledged us. There were several open tables available. They just weren't seating anyone. Two girls stood behind the register and never spoke. They would divert their eyes if you looked in their direction. We finally walked out. TWENTY MINUTES, NOT ONE WORD. I will not be back. (UPDATE: After the manager/owner left a very snarky and unprofessional reply to this review, I decided to call him at the restaurant. I explained that if he wanted better reviews, he needed to provide better service, and he should be ashamed for insulting me and trying to bully me into changing my review. He did eventually take his reply down. I have read other reviews on this site for this restaurant, and I am shocked and appalled that it is common practice for him to treat customers this way. His replies are very petty and unprofessional... some are downright rude. This behavior validates my review of poor customer service. He wants to spend more time arguing with his customers online than fixing the issues of poor customer service, which causes the bad reviews in the first place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE WHEN THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER RESTAURANTS IN TOWN THAT WILL APPRECIATE...

I was greeted by a lovely host while waiting for my phone order. I had to use the restroom, I came out and asked the host if it might happen to be ready. She didn't even get to utter a word before some guy and a lady (guy was on phone and couldn't make eye contact) interrupted and said " you can ask here!! " (snottily) I walk over and ask approx how long until order so I can get my wallet ect, she came back with a (you don't have to use foul language) which I giggled (wallet) and went to get my things, she then proceeds as I walk to my car tell me "nevermind then "and yanks my order off the counter worst experience ever, will not return, food was trash anyway, tasted old, over cooked, and not authentic. Mostly from a can and rehydrated!

Second review, giving them a second chance, Ordered barria tacos. Order texcano burrito NO CHICKEN*FOOD ALLERGIES *end up with a heaping mound of chicken, call the store repeatedly, no answer, show up to have order rendered and fixed, guy looked like he ate 30 war heads with a sour puss that would send you back 20 years. "OH kitchen closed they made a mistake." Yeah a mistake that could of killed someone. Never...

Today me and my friend decided to visit San Juan restaurant and we're completely upset by the service we received along with the food. My friend ordered some tacos and noticed how the tacos looked old and hard. When we called the Manger over to inform him about it he off gate assumed we didn't know what we're talking about and he insisted that they where not old at all..he said they are fried and they are supposed to look that way and walked away. A couple minutes later one of the waitresses came to our table and asked if everything was ok and we explained to her that the tacos tasted stale and looked old, like they have been sitting for a while. She paused for a moment noticing as well as we did that they were not good and looked apoligetic. She then offered us some floured tortillas instead. When she brought my friends new tacos back the manager noticed, got mad about it and asked the waitress why did she give my friend fresh tacos when they're was nothing wrong with the ones she had. He then came to our table with the purpose of taking all of my friends food and leaving her with the three tacos that the waitress had...
