My First time in and will be my last, I had made a reservation to try this place on Saturday Oct. 18th. at 5 pm. based on a coworkers recommendation stating he knows the owner. I should have known it was going to be bad when on a Saturday evening there are only 2 other tables sat. Unfortunately the experience did not live up to his hype. I have worked in and have eaten at many steak houses in this country and even though this is not considered to be a steak house, when you offer a fillet mignon I would expect a fillet mignon. What I was given and for the cost was not a fillet mignon. The loaded bake potato I was given seemed to be from the day before and by the time I received the dish at my table all the cheese and butter had already been absorbed by the potato like it had been under a heat lamp for quite a while. I ordered a side topper of grilled shrimp for my non fillet and what I received was less then stellar in size and in cook quality. My wife's meal was equally underwhelming, the penne pasta with fried shrimp was watery and the vegetables were so steamed they turned to mush by the time it was given to us. Entirely to much batter on the fried shrimp that they were unrecognizable as to what they were. This was supposed to be my 55th birthday dinner and I was willing to try someplace new. I would have been better off to go to a fast food place to eat like Arby's that offer better beef, Or a McDonalds steak bagel. The manager did comp my meal which was the least she could have done but made no effort to ensure my wife was completely satisfied especially when she only ate 5 or 6 bites before losing her appetite. For future endeavors I would recommend to this owner to stick with what made the restaurant popular to begin with and get rid of the additional items...
Read moreFirst time there May2023. Ordered the fried Wontons, Bang Bang s shrimp and the main course was Pineapple chicken. The fried Wontons were ok,the Bang Bang shrimp was good. The Pineapple chicken was a big disappointment. For starts, it came in a small bowl of fried rice, this fried rice was plain rice with soy sauce. There were water chestnuts, small prices of chicken and small peices of pineapple. Hard to distinguish as it was all brown as if they put soy sauce all over it.
Total hit with sweet tea, $50 bucks and change. I looked at my GF and said, we make way better Chinese fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and honey garlic chicken at home and she totally agreed.
Seems since the new owners it's gone downhill. Like steak? That's not on the menu of a true authentic Chinese restaurant. The only little action was the bar with the local bar flies.
Get better Chinese at another place. I should open my own place after...
Read moreThe atmosphere is extremely formal, very upscale considering the area its located. The Ribeye steak is outstanding, seasoned so well and so tender that it almost melts in your mouth. The filet Mignon steak is even more tender than that and marbled just so, it is even beautiful to look at. The servers are all phenomenonal, they all serve with a smile and vigor. Most of them are women but there is one or two men there if that's important to you. This restaurant isn't just for Chinese food, their American and fusion dishes are to die for. The dessert is dressed in such a way that it seems as though a five star restaurant prepared it. If you are stopping through Kinston definitely stop here, it's worth your...
