Great breakfast and lunch place. Off the beaten path as its not an area I normally drive through but glad we went! Definitely go back for the food.
Family friendly: yes Pet friendly: no Parking: yes, shared strip mall parking.
FOOD: The Crunch Club Sandwich (thick sliced bacon, fried chicken, fired roasted tomatoes, chipotle Aioli) $14.99: Bacon was well done which I love, fried chicken was crispy and crunchy, and their aioli has just a enough of spice that makes everything taste delicious. I'm glad I picked the sandwich vs. a wrap as the tater tots were crispy and warm. The Veggie Wrap (sautéed mushrooms, fire-roasted tomatoes and peppers, chipotle aioli): Tasty but didnt enjoy the tater tots inside the wrap. Good and bad that they pile on the amount of tater tots INSIDE the wrap but it would have been nice to have some offered on the side.
MENU: The business model is similar to Chipotle or Metro pizza where you get to pick from a pre-set items or you can build your own. The pre-set you can choose it to be either for a wrap, salad, or sandwich. I suggest always ordering the sandwich version if you're keeping the tots because its nice having a crispy tot to pop in your mouth between bites :)
RESTAURANT/LOCATION/INTERIOR: Small location is kind of off the beaten path. Found this when we were searching for a lunch spot near Totem Lake that we havent been before.
Inside is pretty small, has about 6 tables in the front (2 and 4 tops) and a few more in the back that you dont really see until you go towards the back to use the restroom.
STAFF: The team working were okay. They tried to be friendly but you could tell they were overwhelm. There was steady business but there wasnt a wait. We stayed around long enough to hear that they would have to close early because they though the cashier who was scheduled to arrive might now. There is a lack of communication between the staff but I wouldnt hold the service against them as the...
Read more5 stars for quick order processing, quick takeout/delivery times, and the food arriving hot and crispy, but I'm not understanding the reviews that highlight the "high quality" or "stellar taste" of the food. Critiques listed below:
They use the cheapest generic ingredients for everything on the menu; think along the lines of generic brand Smart and Final type ingredients. The ranch was probably the worst I've ever had, the salsa reminded me of Pace Picante brand out of a plastic jug , etc. Nothing gourmet, organic, or high quality about anything in our order. The food quality is what you'd find in a school/work/government cafeteria - not horrible, but the ingredients are on the very lowest end of the quality spectrum. This is only an issue because 2 of our burritos were $18 (including the $2.99 for extra meat); if they were $7 or less then I wouldn't be complaining about this.
There was barely any meat in any the 3 burritos that we ordered, even though we paid for "extra meat" in 2 of them. All of the burritos were mostly tater tots (around 80%). You'll find more meat and protein in a $4 breakfast burrito from any fast food joint.
Related to the point above, many things that we paid extra for (i.e. sauces, toppings, etc.) were not included on our items. On most items in our order the extras added 25-50% to the price of the item, which we were totally fine with if they had actually been included.
The tater tots were super oily (They weren't drained properly), resulting in overly oily burritos and also a giant pool of oil at the bottom of our "Tachos" box.
So the overall point is that the food is way overpriced for the quality, and there were many "extras" that we paid for that were not included on our items. For the same amount of money you can do takeout from any of the premium breakfast places (Deru, Homegrown, etc.) and get significantly better quality, or go to any fast food joint (McD's, Burger King, Chick Fil A, etc.) for...
Read moreWe ate breakfast at Little Mama’s today and the food was really delicious. I “created” an egg scramble: 3 eggs, ham, spinach, sautéed onions, smoked provolone cheese with chipotle aioli sauce. All the ingredients were top notch.
Prices: There are no prices listed on the menu nor posted anywhere. So it was anybody’s guess as to what the charges would be. My husband and myself each had an egg scramble and coffee, which was also delicious. Our total with the “automatically included 15% tip” was $36.00. It seemed a bit high for breakfast. Each meal came with tater tots, unknown to us until we got them. We don’t eat carbs so that was a hidden up-charge we would’ve avoided if we’d known.
Ambiance: There is zero, zip, nada! It’s not what one would expect for “Little Grandma’s Kitchen.” We received our food for inside dining in a to-go box. Even sturdy Chinet paper plates would have been a better dining experience. As I looked around the little space it was easy to imagine some inexpensive fixes to address the drab appearance, for very little cost.
Deco ideas: Buy red and white checkered, heavy duty picnic table covers. The 4 tables are very small 2-person tables. They could be cut in half or even quarters to fit each table and tacked underneath the edges for stability and easy cleansing. That would cost under $20.
Next hang some Seattle, Space Needle, Mt Rainier, Lake Washington, Puget Sound and other (take your pick) framed posters along the very spacious blank and completely undecorated walls. What would that cost? Under $100?
We noticed many folks coming in for take-out food. Just a few changes to the ambience for inside diners and the ability to eat off a plate (even paper) would likely develop more patrons choosing...
