This is the first and last time I'll stay at a Marriott hotel. First, there's a $5/day parking fee not included in the room cost. Second, there was a black Asian hair in our shower tub which suggests that housekeeping isn't very thorough. Also, the water in the tub from the previous guest had not been drained all the way. Next, when we went to use the drinking glasses, they were both covered in dust which was sickening. The fitness room is small and the equipment in there was also dirty as well as the window. If that wasn't bad enough, the battery in the locking mechanism of our door had died, so I had to call down to the front desk to have someone sent up to help me get out of my room. Yes, we were locked in! God forbid there had been an emergency!
When I asked them for a stamp so I could mail a document, they were completely out. That's pretty unacceptable in my opinion for a hotel that i'm sure mostly caters to business travelers.
Also, when I went to shower on the morning of our checkout date, I learned that our bathroom had completely lost power. The front desk said their maintenance person wouldn't be in until 12pm (checkout time), so they offered to move us rooms or let us use another shower. Unfortunately, my boyfriend was sleeping still (he works 3rd shift), so it would have been too inconvenient to wake him up and move everything or get him to go to another room just to shower. I was pretty frustrated at that point, so I decided to opt out of showering altogether.
Needless to say, I'm pretty disgusted. I have stayed in several hotels and motels that were more cleanly than what I had encountered here. The only pleasant thing about this hotel was the front desk staff. Hayden and the blonde hair female agent were both really nice. In fact, I would go as far as to say they are both deserving of a promotion, otherwise, deserve a better work environment where they don't have to put up with guest complaints because management can't ensure cleanliness or a properly staffed hotel.
I'm surprised this hotel has good reviews. This has by far been my worst stay and weekend...
Read moreStayed at the Courtyard Marriott Seattle Kirkland for 4 nights recently. This is the worst Marriott property we have ever stayed in. We travel frequently and always stay in Marriott properties (have stayed 60+ nights already this year). The front desk employees are very nice and helpful; the only good thing about this hotel. The hotel is not up to Marriott standards that we have come to expect. I believe this hotel is independently owned! Marriott needs to assess this association. Supposedly renovations have been made recently, but it was not obvious because the lobby is shabby looking, no personality at all, very loud music was blaring, some large wooden furniture pieces were not being used but stacked in the front corner, tool carts were standing in alcoves. The 2nd room we were given, due to a spewing shower head in the first, had damp and stained carpet in front of the refrigerator, the toilet had black mold around the inside rim, rust pieces came out of the bathtub faucet every time the faucet was turned on, the tub had pinkish scummy looking goop in the surrounding tiles, the towels look old and shabby, the furniture in the room was too big for the space (one side of the bed was too close to the wall and the sofa with a wooden side piece was too close to the bed to get to the side of the bed without hitting your shin. Housekeeping is not good! After the second night, our room was supposedly on the list to be cleaned. We were out all day and came back to a dirty room. The towels were replaced and trash removed, but the bed was unmade and surfaces were not cleaned, and carpet was not vacuumed. Signs are posted that rooms are cleaned on the second day if you stay 3 nights. We stayed 4 nights and did not get proper housekeeping. After strong complaints to the front desk representative, who said he had received so many similar complaints the past couple days, our room was properly cleaned after 3 nights. We also called Marriott and filed complaints. I truly hope Marriott investigates this property! It is not up to their standards and will damage...
Read moreI stayed one night on August 23. The smoke alarm was flashing the entire night, so the gentleman at the front on the morning of the 24th took off the $15 parking fee. I thought that was fair. I noticed on the receipt that there was $2223.88 pre authorization on my credit card. That evening I discovered the money was actually taken from my account on the 12th of August when I made the reservation. I called on the night of the 24th and spoke to Kaley and Nikki. They said an error was made. The prepay should have only been $223.88. An extra $2000 was charged to my credit card. I asked for the matter to be researched and for the manager Katie to call me back the following day. I waited the next day 8/25 for several hours. Apparently, Katie was too busy to call me back so I called and spoke to an assistan manager, Vinh. He also acknowledged that a mistake was made and he would fix it. He said in addition to the prior waiver of the $15 parking fee, he would also waive the $6 for the 2 bottles of water that were charged to my room. I said that I felt that the room charge should be waived for the inconvenience. He said he would talk to the manager Katie and he or Katie would get back to me. Once again I did not receive a call back. On 8/28 I received a credit card refund, but they added back the parking fee, which was previously waived and did not waive the charge for the 2 bottles of water. Although it appears that English is the second or third language for Vinh, I do believe he understood the situation. On 8/28 I spoke to Carley who acknowledged the mistake and broken promise. She said she would pass a message to Vihn and Katie to reimburse the parking and water charges, $23 14 after tax, and have one of them call me. Today is 9/7. Stiil no call back and i am still owed $23.14. If I ever stay at this hotel again, I will closely watch my credit card bill and not belive anything that i am told. If they can mess up a reservation for one night. I'd hate to think what they could do for a...
