I am very unhappy with the customer service at Sleep Number. I purchased a split king mattress during the Labor Day sale, and I've had the mattress for two weeks and I am 100% sure that the split wont work for me, but they don't let you exchange until you've had the mattress for 30 days. In order to exchange it for a regular king mattress I'd actually have to pay more out-of-pocket because they won't honor the sale price. So I'm paying more money for a cheaper mattress.
The return or exchange process is anything but easy or transparent. I was never told that the adjustable base was nonrefundable--so I'm stuck with a $2,500 base I can't return.
I will end up spending way more than I expected just trying to find the right fit mattress. They charge a delivery or pick up fee for exchanges and returns which adds on even more money. Customers deserve honesty and clear communication up front, not hidden costs, especially when making such a large purchase.

We went into the Kirkland store and told the manager which bed we wanted. He had us lie down on the floor model to try it. He then looked us up on the computer and found our first purchase. He wrote up our sale and scheduled delivery and haul away of our old mattress. He was very courteous and professional. He did not try to upsell us anything. The delivery team was just as courteous and professional. They set up our new mattress and explained how to use the app for the new bed and were on their way in about 30 minutes. They acknowledge it but asked that I complete the install and wait two days before concluding it was defective. I waited and reached out to them. I was provided a help line to reach. You will need to wait upward of 20 mins to reach a person to talk to. Then was placed on hold and transferred to another person. Was told they would ship some additional supplies for fixing the issue and then schedule an install after two weeks. Asked for a replacement instead and they require you cover additional cost.
