Most people may look over this review, because our insane experience relates to being cat-owners at the Motel 6, but hopefully you listen to my warning regarding the management at this location, and the Motel 6 in general.
We got kicked out of the Motel 6, with a few hours warning, because they claimed we didn't comply with the Pet Policy. We brought two cats, and just didn't want housekeeping coming in and accidentally letting our cats out. We talked to the very nice people at the desk, who explained that they have to let housekeeping come in every third day, and on the third day, we can come in to the office to work something out with our cats.
On that fateful third day, we came in to discuss an arrangement with the front desk to make sure our cats weren't let out when housekeeping came (as directed), we had the misfortune of dealing with the Motel 6 General Manager. He explained that housekeeping will come any time during the day, our cats have to be crated, and we can't be there when it happens. We were taken by surprise, because clearly cats are not like dogs, we can't just leave the motel for the whole day and leave cats crated unattended. We tried to work something out, like if we could get a window for housekeeping to come, and we could just stand outside while they clean, but he blatantly said that it was the pet policy, and if we don't like it, we can get a refund and go somewhere else.
I came back later to talk to the general manager, and he said he had already cancelled our reservation for that day, and had a few hours to vacate the premises. He used the excuse that I accidentally reserved the room for one person instead of two (my husband and I). It was a total accident on my part, and I asked him to charge me whatever extra it was for second person, but to just treat us with respect. He refused, and again said we had a until 12:30 that day to vacate the premises.
I called the Motel 6 headquarters, because I couldn't believe how we were being treated. They completely sided with the General Manager, and said that we weren't complying with the Pet Policies, so we needed to vacate the premises.
Honestly, this experience is crazy to me. We aren't troublemakers, we are a middle-aged couple that just wanted an inexpensive option to stay with our two cats while we put in hardwood floors in our home. I saw what looked like drug deals around the Motel, and we were kept up all night from people partying until the early morning hours, but WE were the troublemakers who deserved to be kicked out, who were just trying to clarify the pet policy and work something out that fit within the rules to ensure that our cats didn't escape.
I will also admit that by the end of this experience (i.e. after we got our refund for the rest of the stay), both my husband and I exchanged harsh words with the General Manager. I probably forgot to mention that I am very pregnant and hormonal, which almost adds to the craziness that the general manager would throw a very pregnant woman out on the streets for no good reason.
We were spending a lot of money on our floors, and thought that we could handle a week at the Motel 6 to save some money. We learned our lesson, and ended up at a nicer hotel for the rest of our time away from our home (who haven't given us any trouble about the pet policy). I totally understand wanting to save money and go with the Motel 6, we did the same thing. However, it turned into the worst rental experience of our lives and we completely regret it. Maybe you don't have pets, and you think it won't happen to you. However, this is just a warning that this business is run by an unstable person, and the Motel 6 will stand by him. You may be the most normal/law-abiding person there, but you may find yourselves in our position, kicked out on the street for no...
Read moreREAD BEFORE STAYING!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE BUSINESS OWNER/ A RESPECTABLE PERSON. So, I have been to Motel 6 all over the country and the reason being is I own a company and our contractors stay in motels. At first, the staff was friendly and the maids were very polite. That being said, every morning/night we have a small meeting to discuss the company matters, (which is held outside away from the building so we don't disturb and a maximum of nine people; two of which who don't even stay at the hotel). Before our meetings, our employees do have to go into our general managers room to get their company materials; note the general manager is the only one that is permitted to hold these materials besides us, (according to company agreements/ contracts). I discussed with the neighbor next to our GM who we are and what we do, that way he didn't assume the worst because it is Motel 6 and he was completely comfortable being our neighbor. As a day or two went on, the maids were very indirect and unprofessional. We would try to communicate with them the services we did need/ pay for but they would just become frustrated and look at you like your crazy. Today, as we were having our morning meeting away from the hotel at the far end of the parking lot and (I assume to be) the motel manager drove down in his silver SUV and was COMPLETELY unprofessional and inappropriate! Instead of approaching us and communicating with us which I believe is his job; He instead parked twenty feet away from us and in an rude tone said that we we were having nine people in one room, (which wasn't true; I'm assuming he's talking about when they checked in and checked out their company supplies), and that if we did it again we would have to leave he would, "keep all our money," then peeled off before we could when politely respond. Afterwards my business partner went down to the office to talk with the gentleman and he was completely sarcastic/ didn't even listen and refused to rent us our rooms for the next day. I do not expect a refund because my employees stayed the days we paid for but the way he went about "completing his job duties," in a unprofessional and ignorant way. I will be sure to report this horrible customer service to Motel 6 headquarters, and don't recommend this hotel to anyone. Tomorrow when I go there to check my employees out I WILL be bringing my Secretary of State paperwork for my business license/ get this gentlemens name; Then I will be reporting him for harassment for falsely accusing my company of being a human/ drug trafficking organization. ( I also failed to mention that my father was a snohomish county sheriff for six years; therefore us being treated against our rights and poorly is unacceptable in my eyes... And the false accusations are not only absurd, but completely uncalled for). Have a...
Read moreGarbage experience. The property itself was fine. Typically motel 6 expectations. Only major complaint was the bed was one of the firmest iv ever slept on. So firm I woke up sore. Outside of that it was fine. The issue was with the staff and neighbors. I got there around 9:30 and asked for an early check in. They said they didn’t have anything available which 100% understand, I’m the one who’s early so no problem. I just asked since I am so early if I could get a top floor (even if it was a little more). He said he’d put it in the notes. I left for the day and returned around 6:30. Upon checking in I noticed only didn’t get top floor, I got the second floor. The worst floor to have. I asked if I could be moved and the lady told me they were fully booked and everything has been “pre assigned”. Now, I hate saying this, I grimace when I hear it myself but it’s true, I used to work in hospitality. Yes you can pre assign rooms, but unless it’s a VIP, room block, special check in or a super high end fancy hotel there is no reason you aren’t able to rearrange rooms. I showed up at 6:30 not midnight. She said she could move me tomorrow however I’d be gone all day, no further options were given. The first night was rough but I was so tired I think I just passed out. The second night though, I heard everything. Not just muffled voices, everything . I heard word for word what the neighbors were saying. And they weren’t even yelling. Constant door slamming and the people above me sounding like they were having a track meet. After 2 hours I couldn’t take it. I left and booked another room. I was so tired I went straight there. I called a few days later to get a refund in the second night (I left at 10:30 and could prove I booked a different hotel) and they wouldn’t refund me. Just crappy service. My experience may be a one off, and outside of noise the hotel wasn’t bad for the price so that’s why it’s 3 stars. But...
