Update since two months ago. It can be a bit hit or miss depending on the cook. Occasionally, there will be large chunks of the undesirable cabbage core and portions are smaller. Even though I ask every time during phone orders to not put in the plastic forks, they still automatically end up in the bag.

Venue and service: Small, neat and clean. It's the only restaurant in that strip mall with an Excellent Food Safety Rating. Currently takeout only but steadily busy with orders by phone and walk-in. On my first visit, there was one solo person doing everything from taking nonstop orders to cooking and packaging food. I returned to the restaurant 20 minutes after ordering and waited outside for the three people in line to finish ordering, but my food was brought out to me. I've visited again and the service is consistently attentive.

Food: Served with the standard mix of crunchy vegetables and fluffy rice that teriyaki lovers expect. What sets the tofu teriyaki here apart from several other teriyaki restaurants in the Puget Sound area is: 1.) the sauce has a smooth, light flavor and isn't too salty 2.) the rice is topped by a katsu-style tofu filet

No need to waste leftovers. The tofu crisps nicely reheated in an air fryer or toaster oven; the rest can be reheated in...

Toshi's in Kirkland is probably the best teriyaki I've ever had! Their sauce is more like a thick honey glaze, and their lunch portions are HUGE. My husband is in love with the spicy 3 star teriyaki. I can usually make the lunch special last for two meals. The rice portions are quite substantial as well! Even the little green salad they have with it is tasty (that's not always the case at a teriyaki joint-haha). They are always crowded for lunch, so don't expect to get a table right away every time. They are very quick and efficient with their service. They also do a frequent buyer's stamp card (but they don't always remind you of it, so make sure you remember). Best 10$ teriyaki meal in town! They do happen to be next to a nail salon, but I can NEVER smell it when I am inside--only the delicious smells of sweet teriyaki...

I wasn't even a fan of teriyaki chicken before! My coworkers at the new company told me they had a "Teriyaki Tuesday" tradition and order takeout from Toshi's. First time I ordered as an obligation since "everyone was having it" and fell in love with it! Six months in and I have never ever been disappointed.

We always order the lunch special which gives you 2 dumplings, coleslaw, huge (as per my tummy) portions of rice and chicken - this generally lasts me 2 days!!!

Their seasoning is perfect and the chicken is cooked just for the right amount of time! I hate coleslaw in general, but love their version of it. We order ahead, so never had issues with wait time, the staff is always...

My family has been going to Toshi's for over 35 years. I moved to Spokane about 20 years ago, and EVERY TIME I come back to visit, I have to have it!! Teriyaki just isn't the same anywhere else, no matter where we go! I swear this last time was THE BEST I've ever had!! Maybe it was the long anticipated wait for it, or that I had the best company of my little brother to share it with, or that the weather was so incredible that we took our dinner to go and sat on the beach and ate, just like when we were kids... Thank you, Toshi's, for being a wonderful core memory and for always providing such a consistently delicious experience!!🤙❤️

We drove here from Redmond in search of a good plate of tofu teriyaki at a decent price, and were extremely glad we came here. The tofu is a high quality katsu style cutlet made in house and fresh to order. The default comes with sauteed veg. The teriyaki sauce was light but flavorful. I didn't verify, but I don't see why the plate wouldn't be vegan. Delicious, excellent price, and made to order. We will be coming here for all future teriyaki needs!

We had a T3 (chicken breast teriyaki) and a Y1 (vegetable yakisoba). Enough for leftovers too. Good quality food, and great quantity for the price. With a constant stream of phone orders and people coming in to pick up orders, took about 10 to 15 minutes to get our food which was obviously all made fresh. This will become a new regular place for us.
