I brought my wife and daughter here for dinner because we heard so much positive word-of-mouth around town. I got a Smashburger and fries, my wife got a BLT with a salad, and we shared an order of tater tots. Iâm disappointed to share that the food here is disgusting.
My Smashburger was completely drenched in grease. Greasy bun, greasy burgers, slathered in some sort of sauce that was not good. Bun soggy and falling apart.
My wifeâs BLT was even worse. She only ate 1/4 of it before she quit. Texas toast completely drenched through in grease, greasy bacon, slathered in mayonnaise. There was way too much bacon on this thing. The sandwich was actually disgusting. And my wife loves BLTâs!
The service was good, and she was very nice and personable.
My wife and I got sick afterwards and we both had to take Pepto-Bismol because we were so nauseous. And I have a strong stomach.
Iâm sad to say that this place is very disappointing and we will not be back. Itâs a cool bar and the servers were nice, but the food was disgusting. To pay $50 for 2 people for some greasy bar food is insulting. Itâs not even like the food is fresh - the tater tots and fries were both frozen and right into the fryer. The burger would be a lot better without that sauce slathered all over it. There was way too much of it. Iâm not sure if the cook just doesnât know what he is doing, but we were grossed out.
Iâm not sure what all the hype is, and I wish we had a better experience, but I do not recommend this place. I try to support local businesses, but we will be going to Taps Maple BBQ next time instead. Itâs just overpriced, greasy bar food. I would avoid if you are looking for the âbest smashburger in Clevelandâ and donât want...
Read moreWe finally stopped in after many months of it being on our list, and it 100% lived up to the hype. We started with the cheese curds which were super crispy & fresh, along with an awesome spicy sauce that we both enjoyed. I ordered the famous smash burger with fries and my husband got the gyro with onion rings (unfortunately didnât take a picture), so that we could split and try everything. The smash burger was so juicy and flavorful, I loved that it wasnât drowning in sauce because the meat was tasty enough on its own. The fries were super crisp and seasoned well. The gyro was unlike any Iâve ever had, but in the best way possible. It was more formed patties of the meat vs shaved off the loaf. I only wish that had some sort of sauce with it. Finally, the onion rings had the wonderful beer battered taste that we all love and had a great crunch and also came with a very delicious sauce. We were going to an event afterwards with drinks so we didnât try any of the alcoholic beverages, but it seems to have a better craft beer selection than most âdive barsâ. The staff were all super friendly and the food came out extremely quick. The best burger in Cleveland is deserved. I also saw they offer brunch on weekends. Canât wait to go back and try...
Read moreGot carry out to try something new. We always have issues with carry out and wanted to give another place a shot. Unfortunately this went about the same. We did not get the smash burgers, which is what all the good reviews come from. We got two salads, a wrap, a gyro, and a chicken parm sandwich. Immediately upon opening the salad containers, the first thing was just brown lettuce. Totally not new and should have totally been caught by a chef or cook. Clearly old lettuce that should have been tossed. But it went in our salad. As my wife was picking through the salad pulling out brown lettuce, she then fished out a 5 inch hair which made her throw her fork down and give up. Her wrap also has lettuce so she wouldnât eat it. I had a gyro with pink meat. I ate it all because it was good but the entire time I was eating, my wife was making leftovers because she was totally grossed out. Now Iâm out $60 and my wife is pissed. Why has carry out become a total disgrace at nearly every restaurant? If this was served to me in person, I wouldâve asked for a refund and left. I was going to call and complain to a manager, but whatâs the point in that? Itâs so...
