The location of this establishment is really nice and atmospheric, but I would have to say that out of all of the places I've eaten at, this one was one of the worst restaurant. The service we had was horrible. When my family and I entered to Avocado, we noticed that the place would be packed but we were not notified by the staff for the wait, nor we were even greeted by them. We had to wait for about 20 minutes till one of the waiter came to us(with a rude attitude) to inform us that there was no table available at the moment. Then 5 minutes later, they found us a table on the corner and escorted us there. But the waitress was quite unprofessional with us due to the poor attitude she had towards us throughout the introduction. No "hello", nor any welcoming. She and few other gave us a bad vibe towards us.
During our time inside, our server was decent, but we did had to wait for a while for our drinks than usual. It really took them forever to get the drinks ready for us. Although I do understand that the place is busy, but with the amount of staff they had, it really shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to serve their customers our drinks. And the drink we had a weird aftertaste; my little brother had water and even he said it tasted really weird. And my parents said that their drinks might be expired. Soo this really concerns me.
The food that I saw on other customer's table doesn't even look special, and looking at their menu through Google I was skeptical with this place. We ordered our food, and also had to wait for almost an hour for our food to come through. But during our wait, I noticed that they haven't served us any chips and salsa. And this is very shocking for us because at every Mexican Restaurant I've been to, the servers would serve us chips and salsa before we order our drinks. This was the opposite. So we had to ask him for the chips and salsa. HOWEVER, be aware that you'll be charged for chips & salsa. This is the only Mexican restaurant that I know charges their customers for this. I never been to Mexican restaurants that didn't serve complimentary chips and salsa, but if so you'll get charged for it. At that point, we were really dissatisfied with this restaurant.
The food we ordered wasn't that great. The beef was somewhat dry and there was lack of seasonings, which justify the lack of flavor. My little brother food was microwaved and his food also tasted awful. As for my parents, their food also looked mediocre. One of them ordered some fajitas, but didn't came out sizzling like they should be. Our food tasted bland. The waiter didn't checked up on us till when we finished our food, and we complained to him that the foods we ordered was disappointing. It doesn't even taste authentic, just bad!
Overall, for an upscale Mexican Restaurant, this was one of the worst establishment I've eaten at. I really don't recommend this place due to the poor service and mediocre food quality. It not the worth the money as we were very unhappy with our experience at Avocado. If I do plan on coming back to Orlando, I would never...

Read moreOkay, so let's break this down. I have gone to Avocado's once a week for about 8 or 9 weeks now for my weekly trivia event. We have yet to have a truly great experience, but it's been okay. However...
The food is extremely overpriced for what you get. The food is usually fairly lukewarm, the burritos are presented like wraps, everything tastes okay but nothing is spectacular, the drinks are small, and the menu is relatively confusing. The service isn't great. The wait staff (save for one or two people) doesn't really smile. It generally takes at least 30-45 minutes for water refills because the waiters disappear for long periods of time. The management is awful. If you sit at the bar, you can literally hear them talking about prices and how much of a profit they make off of each item and how people need to spend more money and how they hate cheap people. Which brings us to... Last night, they literally kicked us out for not spending enough. Mind you, the place is never full, so we've never taken a table away from anyone who has wanted to dine. We have always bought at least drinks when we've gone, but due to the overpriced food, we can't afford to eat dinner there every week for the trivia event. HOWEVER, we do give them money they wouldn't otherwise have had if our table had sat empty. Yet they still told us they won't seat us next week because we've been too cheap. Not only that, but for several weeks they've been whispering insults about our team to all the other teams about how cheap we are. We are all Disney cast members, and we don't make enough to pay for $14 burritos every week. We don't need for all of our trivia friends to know how little money we're spending because that's inappropriate. But Avocado's management doesn't seem to think so. So now our team is having to re-group and switch venues which will be difficult with everyone's work schedules, and it's all because this restaurant is greedy and nonsensical.
They have some good specials sometimes, but basically don't get just the specials because you'll be side-eyed from the bar the entire time for...
