I really only try to leave reviews for places I recommend, but sadly I feel obliged to leave this review. The food was great. However, I had quite the unfortunate interaction with the owner, Adrian. I have to say I have never met someone so rude in the service industry. He may be the absolute worst food business owner I have ever come across. Our first interaction was when he bolted out to my table outside, got in my face and demanded me to stop feeding my pug little pieces of ham i tore off from my croissant sandwich, and to put him on the ground. And then backed up and stood and stared at me to make sure I wasn't doing it. The statement was "it needs to be on the ground, and You can't do that" as my dog was eating a pencil-eraser sized piece of ham from my fingers.
I asked to speak with him after I had paid to see if someone had complained or what the issue was . He comes back to the table after I pay, bends over and gets right in my face once again, very aggressively. I asked him if someone complains, he says no, no one complained, and then goes on this rant about health code violations with dogs at restaurants. I take my pug literally everywhere with me when I am able to eat outside and have never had such a horrible experience with a food business.
When I try to have a civil conversation with him, he stands up, looks at me in the eyes, and aggressively says "I'm not going to continue listening to you", turns around and walks back inside. I was mid-sentence. He would not let me say one complete thought without him speaking over me in an elevated voice. I felt uncomfortable as people around could definitely see and hear him raising his voice at me and my wife. I have never ever in my entire life met someone in the customer service industry That is so rude. His response to anything I was saying was that he worked hard for his business so I guess that gave him an excuse to be rude.? I'm still just mind blown that somebody with a personality like this can own a customer facing establishment. It's really sad.
He did not care about customer satisfaction. He did not care about being polite. He was entitled. He was rude. He was aggressive, and it is such a shame that a place with so much potential has such a rude, arrogant, entitled owner.
I pray that this restaurant changes ownership soon and the current owner can find a buyer who actually cares about their customers so that I can come back, but until Adrian is out of the business, I cannot give my money to a place with such a rude owner.
Also, I am very interested in what his response will be to this, as I cannot wait to see the lies that he puts on his response, if he puts one, because he knows he was in the wrong, l but I think he is too arrogant to even admit that because he couldn't even have a civil conversation with a customer.
I have been here multiple times with my dog and never had any issue. All the waiters waitresses and host staff love it. I also want to note that of the multiple times I've been here not once ever has any employee mentioned that the dog needs to be on the floor and that he could not be in my lap that has never been mentioned to me until this owner's response.
One more thing to note is after the final interaction after Adrian walked off on me mid-conversation, I asked 3 different employees if they have had interactions with the owner and what those interactions were like, and all the responses I received were negative this paints a pretty clear picture for me.
If you want to support a local business, go next door to the tavern, where the customers are...
Read moreMy husband and I have been going to the diner for over fourteen years; gone through various owners. We came from PR on vacations now we live in FL. It’s always been a pleasant place to visit. We take our family and friends; suggest it to all our family and friends. However for the first time we had a bitter experience. We invited a couple to the diner we had spoken so highly of. The server, whom had never served us before was very rude. There were a few moments of uncomfortableness but I didn’t give importance. I asked for the chk but my guest insisted on paying. What was totally and absolutely unacceptable was when the server came to the table to ask if they didn’t like the service and gave her a lecture on that the tip she gave him was not enough and he makes his living with tips; I felt sooo bad, I was soo embarrassed and sad, I wanted to defend my guest from the rude server but I froze. I don’t know how much tip she gave and it shouldn’t matter, there’s no reason to treat and old person that way. It gave a bitter taste to our vacation week. For many years this was my favorite place, now I don’t know if I can go back and if I do, I certainly don’t want to be served by him. My daughter and her family came down to our timeshare a couple of days later; we always go to the diner but I made up an excuse not to go; I didn’t want to share with her the shameful and bitter experience we had gone through with our guests.
We always give very good tips. However, if a person is not able to tip well but has just enough to pay for their meal and give a small tip: Is that person not allowed to go there for a meal?!? I know there are some stingy people but some people just have enough to enjoy a meal. Everyone should be treated with courtesy and respect. We’ve owned a business for over 35 yrs; we are as grateful for the small business as we are for the large business. They all deserve to be attended and treated respectfully. Have a...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience at this dining establishment , terrible food terrible service and very rude staff and owner. Would never ever come back. Was treated rudely when we informed them there was a disgusting hair in our food. The chicken salad was disgusting. The Bloody Mary was out of a can and falsely advertised. We got extremely nauseous after the hair in the waffle ordeal and brought it to their attention. They still wanted to charge us , went to the owner and he was extremely rude to me had a real attitude. Will never go back. Terrible way to treat a customer. Ruined our entire lunch. The owner is extremely rude nasty has an ego problem and doesn’t know how to give good customer service. And to respond to his answer to my previous post he simply didn’t care there was hair in the food he served got a cocky attitude with me and posted very false things about what actually happened. My daughters took their food and thru it in the garbage. And I was sick all day so don’t ever dospire what a customer says. Your food is horrible and furthermore u are very rude who cares more about a review than actually taking care of the problem. Lose your attitude. The food was terrible. We threw it in the garbage. You should be more than ashamed of yourself as a business owner and to actually write such nasty things to a customer. Wow. U need an attitude adjustment for sure. And as I said before. My daughters boxed the food up and then thru it out that’s our business not yours u had a horrible attitude from the beginning and u are just disgracing yourself with the responses. Remember I’m the customer. I have also read some of your reviews and they weren’t all that nice. Several Even said u had an attitude. So this is my last response but don’t ever bash me again as a customer. U run a lousy business and ur attitude and response to a customer just reflects that. ...
