Edit to change my review: As this place grows, they need to examine their work culture, offerings, and overall business. Although it continues to be an Instagramable location, the service is awful every time I go. I ordered a specialty coffee and a sandwich just before 11 with a couple of people in the shop that had already been served. As soon as I sit down to wait for my to go order, I was given a regular coffee that I had to get up and request be made to my order. Then I'm patiently waiting for 20 minutes for my food which is not out of character from them even during their slow time and when I went to inquire about my food, they hadn't even made it! I was told that it would take one minute to make which indeed it did which begs the question why it takes 20 times longer to get a sandwich when them forgetting is not at issue. The chips are served from a large bag of chips bought at Sam's club along with the pastries they serve. Same thing with the bread used - all cheap, store bought, and upmarked an insane amount. Their breakfast offerings although look good in photos taste terrible - everything is overcooked to become a tasteless brick. The employees are upset to be disturbed from talking to themselves and do virtually anything else except actually ring you up or make your food. A cute place to take pictures isn't enough. Save your money and go to virtually any other establishment a few blocks up on Main Street.
New cute place in walking distance from the courthouse. The "Judge" sandwich was simple but tasty and perfect if you are looking for a simple and quick lunch. They serve Onyx coffee which is delicious (same stuff they have at Glass Knife). Service was fast and friendly. The menu is small but...
Read moreI used to love this place and it was my favorite spot for oatmeal. I literally drive all the way from St. Cloud just to get the oatmeal bowl. But the last three times I’ve come, they’ve been out of oatmeal before 11am, which makes it a wasted trip since that’s the only thing I came for. I understand running out of something later in the day, but that early? Oatmeal doesn’t take long to make, but they seem to prefer losing business over making more. If something keeps selling out, that usually means people like it and you’d want to keep it stocked. Sadly, I think I’ll have to start going somewhere else for oatmeal. It’s the worst feeling to be craving something and hear “we don’t have that” every time you show up.
Update to respond to owner: A 3 star review is not a negative review. I made sure to share both the things I appreciated and the areas I felt could be improved. I decided to leave this feedback after experiencing the same issue three or four times, which made it clear it wasn’t just a one time occurrence which I included in the original review. My hope was that it might be helpful and lead to a better experience in the future.
Unfortunately, the response I received from the owner came across as defensive, unprofessional and lacked decorum, they are acting as if I had left a 1 star review which I did not I left a 3 stars which is neither positive nor negative. I was respectful in my feedback and tried to be constructive, but the reply was dismissive and lacked the professionalism I would expect from a business that values its customers. It’s disappointing to see that honest feedback isn’t welcomed. Based on the response, I’ve decided to never return to this...
Read moreAtmosphere: Love the layout, design, very nice to chill and relax to do a coffee chat or work. I wish they open late night, I would love to come in with some friends just to chat late night.
Service: Service was good, there were some miscommunication on some of the ordering so we had an extra pastry to take home but overall everyone was nice.
Drinks: 2 words, overpriced and underwhelming. We ordered some speciality lattes which in my opinion where not special cost almost $8 each. We ordered a iced s’mores latte and crème brûlée latte. The drinks looked great but lacked flavor. If you enjoy bitter coffee this is for you, but if you’re looking for the sweet packed latte I wouldn’t recommend it.
Food: For the pastries we had a quesito, carrot cake and a cinnamon roll and they were all okay, in my opinion I had better but it was good. We also ordered the defended omelette which wasn’t as good as I thought it would be, the sweet plantains where there but it was missing much more including more bacon and cheese and maybe some type of sauce.
Verdict: Its definitely an average coffee spot, I would much rather go there for the atmosphere over the food. For 3 pastries, an omelette and 2 specialty lattes you’re looking around $40 which was way too much compared to other local spots...
