I’ve driven by this place 1 million times as a local and I finally was able to stop by and try. There is five dollars for parking if you wanna park close to the food trucks. My husband and I tried two of the food trucks here the food at each one was great in phenomenal. My husband did the American barbecue free truck which had a steak cheese, curds, and corn. The steak was super juicy and tender. The cheese curds were wonderfully soft tasted like I was back in Wisconsin. The corn could’ve used a little bit more salt, but great food that food truck in particular it was quick and fast with their service the lovely person who is running the food truck was very kind. I got the sushi at one of the food trucks that’s pictured Service is a little bit slow. They had just opened up again for a meal service. I was the only one that had placed an order within like the 15 minutes of waiting for my Fuji roll. Was pretty good I’d give it a four out of five. The shrimp was definitely fried fresh, but it’s not the best Fuji roll. I’ve ever experienced in my life. Service is a tad slow for this one. But our overall experience at this place is yes it has some higher prices due to the tourist district. We did see people cleaning up and taking out the trash cans. There is the overwhelming smell, though of the back of a theme park of just like mass amount of people in food and objects being altogether. While you’re also trying to leave the parking lot to exit is not well laid out and we ended up driving around until we were able to find the actual exit sign to leave. But you could literally find any kind of food that you would like for all the picky eaters in your life. There is hundreds of food trucks here gathered in mass all working together. I would like to come back and experience some of the trucks that were closed. We did come in on a Friday afternoon, but not all the trucks were open while...
Read moreI happened to be staying within walking distance, so I gave it a try. I’ve had some of the best food, ever, tonight, and I’m completely overstuffed! And, I’m super picky. I didn’t realize how close I was, and drove, but don’t let the overflow parking intimidate you. I felt perfectly safe, by myself, even though it looked sketchy. I asked for recommendations from anyone who would talk to me (not many patrons didn’t speak Spanish, like me), but my favorite was the cheleta kan kan, from Fogon des munchies, which the Puerto Rican 7-11 clerk recommended! I don’t care for plantains, so I had the delicious rice (with beans), instead. I couldn’t leave without trying the churros, which will forever be imprinted on my hips, so good! Fresh from the fryer with caramel and chocolate on top! How could I go wrong? I will be back. The only reason I’m giving four instead of five stars, is the empanidillas I had. It was like they just threw a little chicken or beef into a shell, and fried it. There was no flavor, and lots of dough. I ordered them, because I’ve had great ones, with flavor. Maybe I ordered wrong? There is the language barrier. When I bit in, all of the meat fell to the bottom, and I didn’t want to fill up on crust. I ate the parts with meat on the bottom, but threw away most of it. I’m sure there’s another place there, where the experience would be different, so when I get back, I’ll try again! This was definitely a new experience for me, and I’m glad I did it. It’s hard to go to something new, when you’re a lone single woman, in a bigger town than you’re used to, AND, don’t speak the language! But, everyone I asked for help, was so nice, and helped this gringa navigate a new scene! I’m so glad that I didn’t opt for the chain...
Read moreSo there I was, in the middle of Orlando's heatwave, where the sun is basically trying to broil you like the delicious meats these food trucks serve. After forking over a mere $2 for parking (bargain of the century), my friends and I decided to brave the heat and dive into the culinary paradise that is World Food Trucks. But plot twist—we're wimps when it comes to heat, so we grabbed our food and retreated to the glorious, air-conditioned oasis of our car.
First up: the Pena Coladas. We sampled more of these bad boys than I care to admit, all in the name of keeping cool, of course. Did they help with the heat? Debatable. Did they taste like tropical heaven? Absolutely.
Now, let’s talk food. We devoured a birria pizza, birria empanadas, a carnitas burrito California, and some steak tacos. If you think we were overachievers, you’d be right. Everything was so ridiculously tasty that it felt like the food trucks were actively trying to make us forget how hot it was. And they succeeded!
The birria pizza? Absolute game-changer. I’m convinced the consomé, fresh cilantro, and that mysterious, magical guacamole-like sauce could make even a worn-out shoe taste gourmet. I might actually consider trying it.
In conclusion, if you find yourself in Orlando with $2 in your pocket, run—don’t walk—to World Food Trucks. Just remember to bring a fan, a cooler of ice, and a designated driver for the inevitable Pena Colada coma. 10/10 would sweat, sip, and...
