On my way back to Cali, we were looking for a hardy, tasty breakfast spot, and based on these 4+ star reviews, we decided to stop by. This place has so much potential. The atmosphere was pleasant. The staff was professional and friendly, but when it came to the food, it was not as expected, and service was average with a hiccup. I'd order the buttermilk pancakes with the egg, sausage, and an extra side of bacon. My husband ordered an omelet with hashbrowns and a pecan muffin. I was redundant to our server how I wanted the egg- over hard cooked all the way through to please have the yolk pierced to ensure it be cooked completely. When our food came, the sausage and bacon meat were well excuted, the omelet was great. I immediately checked on the egg, and the yolk was soft under cooked. I told our server, as the server removed the plate said "oh that's right." A few minutes later, the server returns with my egg. I checked it, and although it is cooked a little bit more, it is still undercooked with a gelly like consistency in the yolk. The server apologized and asked if I wanted it taken back again, but I said no because I would have had to wait again, which would have kept affecting my dining experience. Then came time for me to try the pancakes. They were nice in size, but they were doughy and chewey. I tried eating around it, but then got a few spots of bitterness, it tasted like baking powder/soda. I stopped there. I asked my husband how his muffin tasted, and he said, "Not so good." I tried it, and unfortunately, he was right. First, the esthetics -- you could tell the dough was over mixed because the muffin top was too smooth, shinny, and it lacked the proper size of the fluffy domelike tops you see on muffins. Looks and others' opinions on how things taste can be deceiving, so I took a bite. The muffin crumb was dense, chewy, flavorless, and a little dry. I do wish this place the best and hope they get better since I honestly saw they have great potential....
Read moreMy wife and I chose the California Croissant (Turkey, tomato, red onion, avocado, alfalfa sprouts and herb cream cheese spread) and a Patty Melt.
The croissant was delicious and everything on it was fresh and of very good quality.
The Patty Melt was good. It was loaded with grilled white onion. The rye that it came on was a mild homemade rye. I personally love a rye that leans heavily on the rye side, but it was very good bread.
I believe that they probably go a little light on the sodium side on purpose (health reasons), because you can always add salt; assuming that's the case because the patty was definitely light on the salt, but nothing the salt shaker on the table couldn't fix.
The criss-cut fries is what their fries are. They weren't exceptional by any means, but they were adequate. However the spicy bbq fry dip that they'll provide with them was excellent.
The ambience was nice. It's a quaint, bustling little restaurant; cozy and comfortable. Prices are maybe just a hair steep, but the quality is easily worth it. Our waiters were friendly, helpful and on-the-spot.
We purchased a lemon bar on the way out (haven't tried it yet). There's quite a selection of pastries and such that look to be homemade as well. We'll...

If these Texans are ever anywhere near Klamath Falls again, Nibbley's will definitely be one...
