I was very disappointed in this restaurant. My husband and I visited on Sunday, Dec 31 for lunch. We stood at the counter for several minutes while the employee handed food out the drive thru window, and then bagged up an order for a customer sitting and waiting on the bench. Finally she acknowledged us and said "I can get you down here." We moved down to that register, and placed our order for 2 of the $5.99 fish and fries. There was no ice in the dispenser, so I had to go back to the counter. We waited for about ten minutes, then someone came out of the kitchen and told us that it would be a few minutes, that they were making fresh fish. No big deal, until someone else came out a few minutes later and said sorry for the wait, we're waiting on fish. It took almost 20 minutes to get our food. And then the fish was still pink inside. I told the girl at the counter. She came over to our table, looked at the fish, and said she would have some more cooked for us. While we waited the second time, I watched four different orders be taken inside the store, and several through the drive thru be waited on. By the way, all the inside customers had to go back up to the counter to ask for ice for their drinks, too. The girl who had originally taken our order came by our table and tried to collect the tartar and cocktail sauces. She never asked, just reached out and started picking them up off our table. I had to stop her and say that I still needed those because I was waiting on my food still. She said "oh" and walked away. Finally after waiting 20 more minutes, I go back up to the counter and ask if my order is being redone. The girl there says, "yes, I told them." She realizes that it's been awhile and goes back into the kitchen. I decide to go back to my table and get my receipt. I look at the time, and I've been in the store for 45 minutes. When she comes back out, I place my receipt on the counter and ask for the manager. I tell her that I don't want to wait any longer for food, I'm going somewhere else. I want a refund. She acts like I shouldn't want a refund, and says I should just wait a little longer for them to make my food. I'm firm and tell her how long I've already waited. Finally, she takes my receipt and goes back into the kitchen. No manager ever came out to speak with me. She comes back out and says that she can't give me a refund right now, that the back of my receipt is signed, and that I need to come back tomorrow to talk to Russ. I really had a hard time believing that my cash money couldn't be refunded. The money was literally sitting in the cash drawer. Also, I wasted gas getting on the interstate to drive there, and she wants me to waste gas to come back the next day too. I was so frustrated that after 55 minutes there, I left without my money, and I was still hungry. At this point, even refunding my money will not fix this experience for me. There needs to be different management procedures in place and several employees need to be retrained on customer service. Read moreI love the food Captain D's and the Captain D's on merchants drive the manager in there has her stuff together I believe she has personnel challenges as most of the restaurants do right now they don't have enough people. I went to the Chapman highway store at first my wife works across the street so I stopped in there after I dropped her off work well it was obvious they had no desire to wait on a customer. I hope they have the dining room reopened soon I'm really not sure why the dining rooms have to be closed anyway why do some restaurants and dining rooms are open and some they're not it's my personal feeling that some of these companies are using this as an excuse to just run the drive-thru maybe that's where the majority of their business comes from I don't know and I'm not making that accusation it's just my belief. But getting back to the merchants drive Captain D's manager she was actually working to drive through window herself maybe she just had one other person that was a cook I'm not sure but she was very pleasant very efficient food was fresh hot so I have no complaints about Captain D's but I hate eating in my car and I did not have time to go home and of course who would want to I had hoped to be able to come in and sit down and eat my fish dinner while it was fresh. Read moreMaybe the worst place I have ever visited. The lady at the counter at 4:30 PM on 28 July will go down as the rudest most inconsiderate person I have ever dealt with. Rolling her eyes, smudging up her mouth when you speak and acting like she would rather you be anywhere else but there. She didn’t say hello or goodbye or anything. I said hello to her three different times and she just looked away. The food was pretty terrible and I was shocked because it took them 20 minutes to get it to me. Even though I was the only customer in the restaurant. I know now why I was the only customer in the restaurant it’s because they treat their customers like crap. I also got a bag to go even though I said I was going to eat it in the restaurant and inside the bag there were over 35 packages of tartar sauce, 16 packages of cocktail sauce, and close to 50 packets of ketchup. All of this for my two-piece fish dinner.
