I am from NJ/NYC, and Arabic and have pizza business all through my history including my parents owning a successful pizzeria here and multiple in NYC. The owner is clearly, Arabic, and when asked about his culture that the customers honor and respect the owner states that there is no way he can be an Arab because he is Egyptian and he is better than that and he’s not Muslim he’s Christian. As if Christian Arabs don’t exist? As if anyone asked? Bizarre environment I live in the neighborhood and this is my 3rd and final attempt as today I met the owner and THIS was the response. He said Palestine and Israel on news isn’t his cup of tea and he’s n Egyptian but no Arab. I was in shock, lol also the pizza is NOT NY / NJ STYLE , it’s conveyer belt hole in bottom pizza. 16” barely covered the box it was more like 12-14” and he refuses to sell slice pies as well. Pic of the “NJ” style pizza that’s 16” and barely filled the box and is not even close to a normal pie up north. I didn’t care abou the pizza style till the owner...
Read moreThis is about the only place to get food really late at night when you are out on the town.
Here is the real breakdown: food: During the day I am sure that the pizza and options are good, but at night you should honestly just be happy some place is open and willing to deal with the drunken debauchery.
-service: Sam, the owner or manager is a badass, and a character. He was inundated with about 50 drunk and annoying people in line and was on top of everything. He had to even kick a woman out for smoking and fighting with someone in line. However, they should have had more help. Two people for a crazy holiday weekend is not enough help.
-atmosphere Overall decent. The bathrooms were clean, the floors mostly kept, and the rest of the experience was just that, an experience.
Overall, good place, only option for late night food, and a great spot for people watching.
And be nice to mr.sam, he is a good guy and a...
Read moreHad heard good things about Da Vinci’s. Went there on a Friday afternoon. Sign on door said opens at 4pm. Employees (owners??) we’re going in around 4:15. Til us they would be opening in just a few minutes so we went across street for a few minutes. Came back, stood outside for about 30 minutes. No one came to door to open, when a male came out and said they will open soon. We told him 30 minutes ago they told us just a few minutes. He yelled inside, said people waiting outside. They told him they said it’d be about an hour. We left and went to another restaurant which had great pizza and service. We’ll not go back to Da Vinci’s. Poor way of...
