Old City Sports Bar — Restaurant in Knoxville

I went to watch the game with my sons who graduated from TENNESSEE. I am 55 years old and the “Karen” Checking IDs when we got there well before it got packed today treated me like total crap because all I need to do was sit my purse down so that I can get my ID!

I’m not a college student trying to do something stupid all I wanted to do was sit my bag down so that I could get my ID out of my handbag! she is one of the rudest people have ever come across in my life. I don’t care what’s going on. You’re in the service industry. My degree is in hotel and restaurant management. If you don’t want people then don’t work in the service industry, lady, who was checking IDs Then I had a bottle of water that she made me throw away. Understandable I get that, but there was no excuse for how extremely rude she was, like I said I’m not a college student, but I was there with my adult children. We got there plenty of time we had reserved table and then she had the nerve to tell me you didn’t pay for the reserves table!! I explained to her that my boys had paid to reserve the table and until my son came and got me she was not going to let me back in the door. I had to go across the street to jig and rail to get some thing to eat because there was no food.!! I wouldn’t ever step foot in this place again. And I hope that my adult children that graduated from the university of Tennessee...

We were visiting Knoxville and looked for a sports bar to have dinner before a concert and watch some basketball and saw the good reviews for this place. Please be aware this is NOT a restaurant! We walked in and were told by the hostess to sit anywhere. It was early so not crowded at all so plenty of empty tables. Had a seat and watched various employees running around but no one ever came to our table. After 15 minutes or so of just sitting there, I asked the hostess and she said oh, you have to order everything at the bar. Went to the bar and ordered our food from the online menu and were given a # to display on our table. After 45 minutes of waiting and not seeing anyone else eating food, I asked the bar and they said oh, we don’t have food so it’s carry out from another restaurant and usually takes 45 minutes to an hour for delivery. Would have been nice to know that when we ordered. Once it was finally delivered, the food was mediocre. Took a long time waiting to pay as well and they seemed annoyed (maybe we didn’t order enough alcohol for their liking?!). We barely made it to our concert time. I’m sure this is a decent place for locals to grab a drink and watch a game, but don’t expect much for...

We waited at the bar for 20 minutes trying to order a drink and were completely ignored. During that time, several other people came up after us and were immediately served. The bartenders definitely saw us waiting but chose to just keep ignoring us. The staff is unfriendly and clearly very cliquey. We left and went to barley’s where we were served instantly. I asked our bartender at barley’s if he knew anything about old city sports bar, and he informed us that “everyone in town knows it’s a s**y bar”. Best to trust the locals! Don’t waste your time...
