Last evening, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Puleos Pizza, where we decided to try their Pizza Napoletana and Pasta Alfredo. Both dishes left us thoroughly impressed, each in its own unique way.
The Pizza Napoletana was the star of the night. While I personally prefer a crunchier crust, the bread on this pizza was soft yet well-prepared, striking a chord with the rest of my family who found it exceptionally good. The toppings were fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned, making every bite a delightful mix of traditional Italian flavors.
On to the Pasta Alfredo, which was a creamy dream come true. We all shared a bite, and it was unanimously enjoyed. The sauce was rich and velvety, clinging to perfectly cooked pasta - a testament to the chef's ability to hit the mark on a classic dish. It's not easy to impress with something as simple as Alfredo.
While the bread's texture on the pizza may not have been my personal preference, it's clear that puleos puzza prioritizes quality and authenticity in their dishes. This commitment to excellence was evident in the flavors and execution of both the pizza and pasta.
In conclusion, our visit to Puleos Pizza was a delightful journey through Italian cuisine. With dishes that cater to a variety of palates, this pizzeria stands out as a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy classic Italian comfort food with a family-friendly vibe. We'll definitely be...
Read moreWe were visiting from Colorado Springs and wanted to get some pizza out last night in Knoxville. After being impressed by the reviews for this restaurant, I wanted to give it a try. We got the #2 combo which has 2-18" pies and cheezy bread. We only waited about 20 minutes or so and David brought out our order. He opened every box and very proudly showed us their fine work on our dinner. The pizzas were gorgeous, a pepperoni and a Margherita. Both pizzas were not skimpy on the cheese and the added touched of the in-house herb infused oil (he told us about the process) on top of the Margherita was a perfect touch to the generous amount of basil that finished the pizza. The cheezy bread was made out of house made focascia bread which disappeared under the best looking melted mozzarella I had ever seen. It came with the very delicious Nona's sauce for dipping. Everything was sprinkled with a perfect amount of herbs to showcase the personal touch applied to all that we ordered. Overall, this was some of the best pizza all 10 of us had tasted and I know our friends will be back but unfortunately we won't be able to get our hands on this pizza until we visit again. We might just have to make up an excuse to see our friends again just to get some of...
Read moreI met Matt who was the owner and he and I had a nice conversation not only about New York and New Jersey but about our experiences with pizza in other areas of the country and Knoxville as well. As a teenager I made many pizzas when I lived in New York and so I definitely know what I like and what a real New York style pie is. Matt did a great job and it is ooh authentic New York style pizza and if any of you folks have any doubt what that really should be I would say try to fold the slice and eat it and if you can’t fold it it’s not New York style pizza. I was so impressed with Matt, his pizza and his establishment that I am also looking forward to trying some of his other dishes offered on the menu. Another plus in my opinion is that Matt also offer slices for purchase so you can make up your mind for yourself without having to buy a whole pizza. It may be very rare that a restaurant will offer that anymore, but where I grew up a slice and a drink were common in any pizza joint you want to. I will be a frequent customer of Puleo’s even though I don’t live close to the restaurant, it is definitely worth my time to drive there. However, if you’re interested, they also...
