Let me start with their food is solid, and the store is clean. Additionally, I wasn't making a purchase. I was picking up a delivery. When I arrived, there was 1 person placing an order and 1 person helping them. There was 2 other employees making food, and 1 more in the back, total of 4 workers. 2 customers in line including myself. My order and 1 other sitting within arms reach of the cashier. The cashier made eye contact multiple times while taking care of the customer. I waited patiently expecting them to address me next. Nope. He heads to make the sandwich. Again, I wait patiently. The employee from the back comes up, looks at me, puts gloves on and heads to the back. While the other customer's order is being made 2 more customers came in. At anytime, there could have been a 15 second discussion, I would have had my order and been gone. After that otter was made, I thought for sure he would talk to me. Nope. Looks at me then heads to make another order. At this point I asked if SOMEONE could help me, rather loudly. It took the girl much further away to address me and hand me the order. I called out the guy on the register who all but ignored me and the guy on the grill came to his defense with "Its his 4th day!" While I feel for the new guy, he knew how to ring in an order, take payment for the order and even how to make the sandwiches. Somewhere before that I would hope they taught him words and customer service. "Can I help you?" "I'll be with you in just a second." "Can someone help this person?" Any of these would have helped or even solved the situation. Instead, the grill cook(mgr?) made an excuse and then sarcastically said, "Have a great day!" and as I headed out the door, I retorted, "I will now that I'm leaving." I have managed fast food. I have manged sit down dining. I have done multi-store retail management. Customer service is key. One simple statement or question could have eliminated the situation. Instead, it was made into a loud disturbance and a post on Google reviews. Management, teach your employees customer service and how to...
Read moreI had a very bad experience at this location. Two employees, one making the sandwich and the other at the register, came across as trying to sound intimidating and rude. Usually, at all locations, there is a daily special sign posted, but this was down for some reason. When I asked if they were still honoring the specials, one guy told me only if you already know the special for that day. To this, I asked what about those who need reminders of the specials. He replied in a very vague, cheeky, and rude way, at a volume level between talking and shouting. It came across that he wasn't very interested in helping the customer and as if he expected me to immediately understand why the special menu, which had been there for years, was suddenly missing.
The sandwich he made was the sloppiest I've seen. It wasn't fully cut (which is a first for me at Jersey Mikes), meat and toppings were just thrown on there, and it immediately fell apart when I opened the paper. All of this has never happened to me when eating at Jersey Mikes, at any location. I got the sense he messed up my sandwich on purpose because I dared ask about the specials sign. The cashier wasn't much better and seemed to have the same attitude as the other guy: an obviously fake deep, loud voice as if trying to intimidate the customer. What is laughable is that they even have the nerve to ask for a tip.
This is the last sort of thing one wants to deal with when walking into a restaurant, especially considering how polite I was. I will never come to this location again and would advise others proceed with caution. This was a highly...
Read moreJersey Mike's is a bit expensive for me, but I go once in a while with coworkers. A friend and I will split a large sandwich. Every time now, we get the chicken Philly. With the grilled onions, this pulled chicken is amazing! I've been to 2 or 3 of their locations and find the food and service to be top notch. Food prep was very consistent. The atmosphere is a little loud for me.. kind of "echo-y." Makes it difficult to carry on a conversation. Would not keep me going there, though. Cleanliness seems to be good, especially considering I've been there at some of their busiest times.
Update: In response to the owner's thoughtful and considerate response.. The noise is partly due to the building design.. and partly due to my hearing not being what it used to be. I notice that at many places. Please don't consider it as a complaint, as I am very impressed with each of the locations I've seen, the conditions, quality, and staff. I may miss parts of conversations, but do enjoy the sounds of people enjoying good food with...
