I don't usually review fast food places. It's fast food - you get what you get, right? But I'm really tired of the constant issues at this particular location and today's order just sealed the deal for me. We won't return at all.
First, they always favor the inside lane at the drive thru so if you pull up and there aren't many cars stick to the inside lane and you'll get your order taken much more quickly. We had three cars pass us before they took our order.
Once they began taking our order the inner lanes order began showing up on our screen. When we pulled up to the first window we were greeted with a "lets see which order is yours and if we've got it right". Yikes. Because our screen was not working we did not realize until we pulled past the first window and had a moment to look at our receipt that one of the sandwiches was now at least $1.50 more than what it used to be. Looking over the rest of the receipt it appears almost all prices have increased across the menu.
We received our order and checked it at the 2nd window. We ordered a kids meal with extra fries (this location only had apple slices or fries and for a two year old the apple slices aren't a great option - what happened to yogurt? Clementines?). We have ordered happy meals for years across many states and locations and many times ordered them at locations time and time again - a kids meal with extra fries has always come with a small fry (in a white paper bag) and then a small fry cardboard box that looks like a prop for a Barbie Dream house that has like 5-6 french fries in it as the "extra". The kids meal only came with the small fry in the white paper bag. When we asked about it we were told that we were given the small fry in the paper bag... as if that was supposed to be all of the fries? We mentioned we had received it differently at other locations and just got a shrug so we said "...its fine". Which is code for "its not fine" - right?
We got the rest of our food and it looked like we had everything so we took off. We got home and realized that one of the sandwiches was missing all of its toppings (it was a chicken sandwich that was supposed to come with tomato and lettuce) - so we paid almost $5 for a chicken patty on a bun.
The icing on the cake for me was the two pieces of hair I pulled out of my mouth after having a sip of my drink. The first one I prayed was a fluke, the second one ruined my meal and had me running for my computer to leave this review. It wouldn't be worth reaching out to this location directly as I have before (as well as gone back in for missing items many times over the few years we've lived here) and all I get are eye rolls from employees. I just don't find this that hard - if you forget food, apologize and bring me the right food. If you made something wrong that I ordered a specific way, that is on your team of employees. If your screens are misfiring and you know it, tell the customer at the drive through "hey something is up with the ordering screens but I'll repeat your order to you". It's simple things that can be addressed but just never are.
Case in point - almost two years ago when we first moved here we stopped to grab dinner. Part of my order was an apple pie. I paid at the first window and pulled up to the second window and was handed a bag without an apple pie, just the other items I ordered. When I asked the employee about the missing apple pie she said "oh, we ran out". And stared at me. Nothing else. I had to ask for a refund. She was fine to let me drive off not only without my food, and she knew I was missing it, but was also not offering to refund me the money I had already paid for the apple pie. She then went on to ask me if she could just give me a different dessert instead and when I said no thank you she had to get a manager to get me a refund. I shouldn't have to pull teeth in a...
Read moreThe Millettown Pike store at East Town Mall location is newly remodeled but the service and food quality is subpar! This is my 2nd visit in last two weeks and both visits resulted in great disappointment due to bad service and luke warm apple pies & cool hashbrowns. This time I took them back to counter and requested hot apple pies and hot hash browns. When she brought the hashbrowns back they were hot, but pies were just like they were when I sent them back the first time. So I walked back to the counter and asked if it was possible to get 2 HOT APPLE PIES. The girl turns toward the drive thru window where 6 people were standing around talking and the a manager told me it would take another 12 minutes to get a HOT APPLE PIE. I proceeded to explain to her I had waited 12 minutes to get my 1st order which was Luke warm. I had already waited 12 minutes once for the 2nd order which was also Luke Warm! So she said I'm SORRY, BUT IF YOU WANT IT 'HOT" IT WILL BE 12 MINUTES! I told her I thought they needed to work on delivering a HOT meal to their customers and I explained to her that this was the 2nd weekend in a row that this had happened. I also asked her if she knew the COCHRAN FAMILY, who owns that Knoxville franchise, and she said no. I told her I would make sure they, the COCHRAN FAMILY, knew about the way FOOD was being delivered to the customer and their lack of customer appreciation as well as their customer satisfaction which didn't seem to be a priority. I have been a customer since they opened the first McDonalds on Magnolia Avenue. I have been in the food manufacturing and distribution business all my life and the COCHRAN Family deserves better from the employees and management of this store.
Instead of walking over to the door and talking to me personally, she carried on a conversation about their inability to deliver a HOT product in a timely manner in front of 6-8 customers who were standing at the counter listening to our conversation. They were looking at me and listening to her with shock on their faces when I am told it would take 12 minutes to get a HOT APPLE PIE.
I Will NOT BE BACK FOR MORE...
Read moreI asked for free donut sticks because the sign says if they don't ask to try the new donut sticks then you get them free... She told me they aren't doing the free ones anymore. A week later i see the same sign saying free donut sticks if they don't ask you if you'd like to try them, you think if she was being honest they'd take the sign down. So i figured she was lying.. She was lying ...you could tell by her voice.. Anyways when i pull up to the window i ask again. The black lady told me to pull up to the next window and tell them that nobody mentioned the donut sticks so i should get free ones. So needless to say those free donut sticks where on my mind. I pull up to the next window and mention the free don't sticks to the Mexican lady. She barely understands donut sticks and definately didn't understand free. But all the white workers behind her did. They looked at me like," oh no he didn't just ask for those free donut sticks" then the slightly past middle aged white manager lady with a attitude (no free donut sticks for you attitude) was very mean she.. Pretended she was to busy to deal with this free donut stick nonsense when i made it apparent it was time to hand over the free donut sticks she told me to pull forward followed by a sigh..(im sure this Is the same lady who said they weren't doing the free donut sticks anymore)i almost cried i definately needed these free donut sticks ( lets just say f.d.s for short) to comfort me now. And Joseph got sausage...
