I was disappointed with my visit to Vols Boba Café. They didn’t have any red bean (even though it’s listed on the menu), and their shave ice machine was still out of order—despite being told over a month ago it would be working again “in a week or two.” The cashier mentioned that the dessert photos by the door were just “pretty pictures” and not actually items they serve, which is misleading. The slush drinks were heavy and inferior in flavor compared to other boba shops nearby. Also, they only offer dairy milk or coconut milk, so options are limited if you’re looking for alternatives. Read morejust went and the staff were very nice, but unfortunately it took multiple times of repeating our order, just for them to still get them wrong. our tea was supposed to be a 16oz but we got a 24oz (definitely not complaining!) but then it was missing the popping boba. it was also supposed to be lychee, which we repeated multiple times. my drink also still had a lot of powder at the bottom which was a little yuck; overall i think it’s a super cute spot but for my first time going i was a little bit disappointed, definitely want to try again on a better...
Read moreI live in Los Angeles, and I am a tea lover, so I get a variety of great milk teas from all over town. Vols Boba Tea is my new favorite milk tea spot in the country! The assam tea is wonderful quality, but adding the cheese foam really added a depth of flavor that I hadn’t had before. The strawberry matcha has a good quality matcha as well, with very real strawberry puree! All around good quality, a sweet staff, and a great vibe really make this a pleasant spot.
