My kids were craving hamburgers and we decided to go check out the new burger joint in the Shell that is close to the house. This place has a burger place, a place to get wraps and Cajun style check. They all seem to share the same kitchen. Their menu is simple, either single, double or triple patty. I wanted bacon on one of my burgers. The lady said, "We do not have bacon." Really? You can get tacos with bacon on them. If they have tacos and you share a kitchen. How come you do not have bacon? I decided to go ahead and order the burgers.
The service was quick. The 3 burgers I ordered were quickly made and handed to me in a bag. The fries were good, hot and crispy. The burger patty was almost like a "smashed" patty. It was crispy around the edges, but had little seasoning or flavor to it. It was juicy, but that is because it was not cooked all the way in the middle. The bun was also cold. I was hoping they would have toasted the bun. It almost tasted like it had been frozen previously, just to make sure it was fresh. I did like the buns they used for the burgers and the veggies were crisp.
Whoever came up with this concept. Great idea, wrong execution. Ironic that you have to pay for your burger, but if you order chicken you pay at the register of the gas station. That makes it confusing. Yes you can make your burger, "Flaming" with green chilies; but, how come you do not have other options like bacon or jalapeños if someone wanted them? Whoever is cooking the burgers, needs to season the burgers better. The folks working there are amazing, great service. If I was rating them on service alone, I would have given them 5 stars. The Food is "meh". Burgers could have been much better. I was hoping for a little bit more. It was reasonably priced. I did get out of there for 3 burgers and 2 fries for $25. Not bad. Anywhere else, it would have been almost $40. I will probably give them a little while longer to work out all of the kinks since they also just opened. Overall, it was descent. There is work to be done. I will give them another try in...
Read moreConfirmed: the double (#2) is the way to go. Perfect meat to bread ratio.
Definitely give it a try. Really solid burger, for a solid price. Paid $10.27 for a #1 combo (burger, fries, and drink). Ordered in the drive-thru with no line. There was a little bit of a wait, compared to fast food joints, but overall not bad (just a few minutes).
The meat actually tasted like beef, the toppings were fresh, and the bun was soft and toasted. The fries were crispy and fresh, but maybe lacking in salt.
My one complaint is that the burger patty was not what I was expecting. The website (and other pictures on Google) made it seem like the patties were thicker, more like a classic diner-style burger. That's why I ordered the single patty Inferno. But it was actually something between a smash burger and a diner-style, kinda thin but not a true smash patty that has the crispy edges.
I'll have to go back and try a double. If that hits, I'll give this place/burger a 5⭐ Definitely...
Read moreHad to stop for gas on a Monday at 4:30pm so I knew it was going to take me a while to get home, we decided to just stop in and get a burger, fries and shake that we could eat on the way home. First, staff was incredibly nice, friendly and welcoming. Second, I ordered the single flamin burger, fries with an Oreo shake. The burger was incredibly good, the fries were crisp and golden, and the Oreo shake was great (I like mine a little runny). If I were in a pinch I would definitely get it again! Plus, they have Daiquiris! I didn’t try them as I had over an hour drive home but they have 4 different flavors plus you can get a half...
